I have noticed last few days operating the TS-2000 on VHF for the first time that the receiving sginals are week while my signal been received by others is very strong.

Is the TS-2000 having a problem with its receving mode on VHF, did any one experinced this before or is it possible the problem is with my Antenna and not the radio ?

Thank you and 73

Is the pre-amp working, a common issue with the TS-2000 is the pre-amp circuit goes out, it is a simple fix.

If the stations that you are having trouble hearing are running similar power and antennas to yours, then most likely there is not a problem with your antenna but rather something in your receiver system. Or possibly if you are using an external amplifier, there could be a bad relay.

Rashed, he didn't say you had a preamp problem, he asked you if you noticed about the preamp working or not.

Does the preamp works when you activate it? does it make a change?

Rashed,

I have a TS-2000 (which I really like) and it does require that the preamp be on for good reception on VHF and UHF. With the preamp, the rig seems to receive as well as others on the VHF and UHF bands.

Hope this helps....

That's how thing should be sorted out, my problem here also, I work in very dim light, I can not bare the strong lighting in my radio room, it harts my eyes, that why I could not figure out was the Preamp switch and I never knew that this switch will make the different, simple things are some times very hard to deal with:)))

Thank you my friend and wishing you all of the best
