My boy, Jack KC9KVU had a fun time last year running this contest. There is a free logging program for this contest at www.n3fjp.com .

Do you have to be a member of the club to do the contest or just a ham under 18?

You are a coach of YACHT, I am also a member. They just asked my grandpa to be a coach.
As for the contest, I wish they would add a CW aspect. There are kids out there that know CW. (I will admit that there aren't many though) If they allowed CW multipliers, there might be some more kids to try the fine mode of Morse Code.

You do not need to be a member of the Anne Arundel Jr. ARC, or a member of anything. Heck, with a control op, you don't even have to be a ham. Right now this is the only real contest for kids. Hopefully this changes in the near future.
Yes, I am a YACHT coach. It is a great group to belong to.
Hope to hear you guys on the air this weekend. If you give Jack KC9KVU a shout, I should be near by to give you another contract as well.

ive been calling on 80 and 40 meters and havnt heard anyone is anyone doing the contest( all ive heard is a few rag chewers) .

Just an FYI theres the Kids Day (arrl or CQ sponsored contest twice a year), and also School Club Round-up twice a year... not sure on the exact dates, check them out!
Dustin, I have been pretty busy the last few days but when I have listened the bands seemed OK or pretty dead... any luck?
