I run a very early Yaesu FT690 on 6m. This is the really early version with AM but without repeater switch option.
I am trying to find a circuit diagram (schematic) for this version to compare the switching between this one and the later 690R and 690Rmk2.
At the moment I use repeaters by programming in the split via the memory channels but I'd like to modify the beast if at all possible.

If anyone has got a circuit for this version and can mail me a copy I'd be really grateful.
Many thanks

Check in the schematic and look for a possible FM modulator section; most rigs usually had a varicap modulated crystal at the IF freqency.

For example, if the IF was 10.7 MHz, and the crystal for FM is the same, you'd have to add some sort of switching, and a crystal that is 10.7 MHz less the offset (depends on whether you need 1 MHz or 1.6 MHz offset).
