Does this give you hope??

Val Thomas’ doctors honestly can’t explain how she is alive today.

Thomas, who lives in West Virginia, is being called a medical miracle after she suffered two heart attacks and had no brain waves for more than 17 hours; reports NewsNet5.com.

Thomas’ heart stopped around 1:30 a.m. Saturday and doctors said she had no pulse. Rigor mortis started to set in, and she was placed on a respiratory machine.

“Her skin had already started to harden and her fingers curled,” Thomas’ son, Jim, told NewsNet5.com. “Death had set in.”

Guess her heart needed 17 hours off for some reason, perhaps?

My father used to say that he would live forever, because heaven didn't want him and hell was afraid he would take over...

Guess now we have proof it is at least possible.

Can you imagine that phone call between the formerly deceased woman's former husband and his girlfriend..?

" Uhm baby, ya'all remember when I said my wife was dead..? Um well... "

On the other hand, at least she finally found a foolproof way to get some time away from the kids to unwind...

The Grim Reaper is not much different from the rest of us. He likes a few days off now and then,he likes to sit, have a couple of beers and watch a good ball game. And much like the rest of us he does make mistakes now and then. I guess this was one of those mistakes.

They didn't happen to bury her near a pet cemetery, did they?

This really sucks. I would really hate to find someone pulseless, apniec, rigor and with dependent lividity and call them on-scene to have them wake up 17 hours later.

Dudes, I'm happy this lady is alive. I'm just glad the ME didn't start doing his/her thing. That could have been real ugly. I Wonder if some ambulance chaser is already on the case?

Whatever was wrong with her, she did NOT have rigor mortis. You should have picked up on that one Greg.

I see people everyday that obviously haven't had any brain waves for longer periods of time than 17 hours. You probably see these people too, one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding a cell phone to their ear.

Was she a union sister? Sometimes getting needed breaks require drastic actions. She may be a hero in sheep's clothing. I am glad she beat the odds and left the morticians (vultures) holding the bag.

yep, sure do

After a little PT the rig-o will go away.

This woman is the reason that a UT will stop, look and listen before embalming.

BTW another way to make sure your dead is to squeeze your teslas. :D

I'd want to wake up before they started to do the Autopsy! Might be hard to get all the organs back into place and working again.
