London to Brighton bike ride M0NOD/M

On Sunday June 15th 2008 (Fathers day in th UK), radio amateur Adrian Johnson M0NOD from Burgess Hill in West Sussex UK will be attempting to cycle from Clapham Common in London to Brighton on the south coast in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
He will be taking along his Kenwood HT and accessing VHF & UHF repeaters on the route.

What type of bike will you use for this operation? I think big tourer or similar.
