People who left the EPA have reported that they were forced to alter or delete data regarding global warming in order to fit the administration's agenda. In today's paper there is a report that the White House is blocking the enforcement of reduced ship speeds in east coast waters. NOAA wants to implement the reductions to help protect endangered whales. Seems slower ship speed allows the whales to get out of the way and avoid being hit. The rule was to be in effect only part of the year when the right whales are in the area. I guess ignoring science is part and parcel of the same fundamentalist, born again thinking that supports creationism, etc.

What paper? Maybe the white house is trying to purge some of the eco-nazis out of the regulation business? Goodness knows we need some balance in this soultion that is looking for a problem.

More like purging the facts out of the report.
Much as they do to all reports that they are forced to give.

It is a sad day when trying to protect a whale species that was nearly hunted to extinction is considered being an eco-nazi. How is reducing boat speeds for the period when the whales are in the area such a terrible thing? Seems like another knee jerk reaction to any attempt by anyone to try to regulate anything? The unregulated rape of the land and nature in the 19th and early 20 century had unintended consequences. We found animal species going or nearly going extinct and our water, land and air polluted. Yes there were extinctions and pollution before but that was generally nothing compared to the destruction visited by mankind in the industrial era. The eco movement beginning in the last quarter of the 20th century has seen improvements in air and water quality, and an increase in the numbers of species formerly threatened (like the bald eagle). Sorry, if agreeing with the attempts to save the right whale is being a eco-nazi, I plead guilty.:)

Global warming science is condemned because it is seen as a threat to certain business interests. If they accept the fact that man made CO2 and temperature rise are correlated then that would indicate the next logical experiment which would be to reduce CO2 emissions which would mean curtailing the consumption of fossil fuels. Therefore science must be censored and ultimately disregarded. Whether it is correct or not is not an issue. The only issue is that when science interferes with certain special interests then science must go.

For those who may have an open mind and who don't mind reading I would suggest reading "Censoring Science" by Mark Bowen. A rather interesting book.

Because that is what they were told over and over again by propagandists. "eco-nazi", "enviro-wacko" are slogans that have come right from the mouths of propagandists and have been repeated over and over again until it becomes a mantra for some and the idea that having concern for the environment, protecting animal species, etc. is somehow anti-American becomes instilled in their minds.

Well, at least they are consistant.
