Wanted to invite everyone to mark on your calendar the Nixa Amateur Radio Club's 1st annual Sucker Days special event station. Each year, the city of Nixa, MO, holds a spring festival called Sucker Days. The local fisherman go out to the area rivers and catch sucker fish for lunch for this event. The day includes rides for children, live music, and lots of good food! This year, we're adding amateur radio to the event with an HF station and VHF station for our local 145.270 repeater.

Catch us on HF at 3.850, 7.250, 14.250, or 21.350 or via EchoLink, node # 113667.

Went to the site and couldn't find a date for the event.
Here's another sucker day: "Sucker Day is a celebration held every year in the small town of Wetumka, Oklahoma, usually in the late summer. It commemorates the day in 1950 when the entire town was suckered by the con man J. Bam Morrison. Morrison arrived in town claiming to be the advanceman for a circus that would be arriving on July 24."
