"Rep. Ron Paul, a Republican with a libertarian’s heart, followed his second-place finish in Nevada’s January presidential caucus by out-organizing the state’s Republican establishment. In the process, the Paulites embarrassed the campaign of Arizona Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president.
They seemed to make up more than half of the 1,300 or so state delegates to the convention. They won a key procedural vote on the rules, and their boisterous presence created significant delays, causing the convention chairman, Bob Beers, a state senator from Las Vegas, to recess the convention without selecting delegates to the national convention. The state convention is to resume at a later date.
Paul supporters occasionally shouted down the chairman, then rocked the convention with noise when Paul, their diminutive doctor icon, appeared to rally them.
Although McCain is the presumed nominee, Paul continues to rack up big vote totals in primaries, including 126,000 votes, or nearly 16 percent, in Pennsylvania.
In his speech, Paul called for an end to the IRS and the protection of constitutional liberties. He never mentioned McCain."

IOW: the Pauline breed consists of sore losers. It's not about winning the nomination anymore, it's about changing the GOP for the better.

Something else Ron Paul has no skills to accomplish.
Nor, from the article, his supporters.

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.
The GOP has started to move from the ridicule stage to the fighting stage against Ron.

The GOP never ridiculed Paul. You've missed a step.
and Ron Paul is no Gandhi.
A man who can't get bills passed, and can't effectively use the money he raises to get votes, isn't going to suddenly "win"; especially when he has the majority of the attendees at a convention and the best he can manage is to derail it.
Gandhi actually understood how to use the system against itself. The Pauline breed has no clue.

ummm...no.
We have actually gone back to the ignoring mode.
Any man with as low a polling numbers as Ron Paul deserves everyone's ignor-ance <ahem>. I would suggest that Dr. Paul get out politics and return to his old profession of being an OB/GYN doctor, but it's my understanding that things are tight in that field and it's hard to find an opening. :p
It's otay JYD... the black helicopters are all gone and you can loosen off your tin foil cap anytime now. ;)

We have actually gone back to the ignoring mode.Actually the Nevada GOP ran away from the convention and illegally called a recess once they realized that Ron Paul was going to be the official nominee. They are running scared ha ha.

Ron Paul believes in open government. All of his votes have been a split vote. If he becomes president it'll be known as the Ovary Office. Dr. Ron Paul deals with the nastiest, filthiest, scummy, and most raunchy between-the-leg diseases known to man... and that's just talking about his fellow members of Congress. When Dr. Ron Paul is president hopefully he can avoid any assassination attempts. During his medical practice he already had to dodge stuff shooting out of the grassy knoll. When Dr. Ron Paul is president he will hope and pray that Hillary doesn't come in for a 'check-up'. Dr. Ron Paul knows how to handle all types of fallopian fungus... but enough about the U.N. Dr. Ron Paul thinks government screws up often. He came to this conclusion after noticing that just like his female patients, a playground is always built next to a sewer. An obvious proponent of small government, when asked about the current president's expansion of the budget, Dr. Ron Paul thinks that 'Bush just gets in the way'

Ron Paul believes in open government.
His supporters, on the other hand, as witness Nevada, believe in cheating once they've lost.

Kindergarten tactic. If the teacher won't give you the chocolate milk and graham crackers you demand, you throw yourself on the floor and tantrum.
Thus we witness the refined state of political science among recently post-adolescent adherents to a demagogue with an imaginary platform.

I tried that at a very young age with my old man. All I got for my trouble was an ass kicking. Some lessons in life are more painful than others. :D

I'm not voting for Obama, him and his preacher can enjoy each other.
Hillary and Bill can take a long walk off a short pier.
McCain is starting to really flip-flop.
Ron Paul, has a lot of good idea. Belives in the 2nd Adment, get rid of the IRS, and a lot smaller government(hey that is what the republicans say they want). A plus in my view, like McCain he served in the military, and doesn't just give it lip service like the other 2. Problem is he is to radical according to most, but then again maybe we need a radical shakeup in the government.

What happened to all the money he raised? What offshore account did all you suckers...err...supporters fund?Well, out of about $30million he still has about $5 million.
You obviously don't know Ron very well. He is fiscally conservative in EVERY sense of the word. He just doesn't spend money unnecessarily. In fact his family had to force him to buy new suits for the debate. It was hilarious to hear his daughter in-law talk about dragging Ron to a tailor to get a suit.
That's the kind of guy I want as President. He won't spend my money any more than he would spend his own.
Never saw a campaign ad or anything around here. A few signs, thats it.It depends on where you live. Ron was only spending money in places he knew he could do well - Nevada and Montana are two that come to mind.
