View Full Version : Well theres a new ham in my "fam"

My cousin Frank just got his Call today. That makes ten of us in our family.:D
Three generations of Franks at that, lol. His call is KB3RCL Its not in the qrz database but its in the fcc data base.
To my point I wanted to say congratulations to him, and see how many others out here have a large number of hams in their "fam".

My Grandfather was W1EBO (1932 - 2002 now SK); My Mother is W1UBM (1952 - present); my Father is W1YOC (1953 - present). My Father-in-Law was W1KJQ but let it lapse back in the 50's. My wife is currently studying for her first license.

Glad to hear you have a few hams in your family as well.
Its nice to be able to share a hobby and learning experience with friends and family.
I'm the only ham in my family. My grandfather spoke of one of his brothers who he thinks was a ham, involved in RTTY - before there were computers :) or at least home computers!

Is it me? I've tryed to get relatives in the hobby. They either stop studying or "Bomb" on there exam and never go back to re-test. Guess, I'm going to try other means to promote the hobby.

Wish mine would do the same, maybe we get alon better at least have a interest or somthin in common, maybe it would teach them a few pointers. But glad to hear some do have fam as hams also, no just me and my husband, maybe we are the start to show parents how to do somethin right when normally they are suppose to teach us, it kind of simular.:)
