It was her idea to plaster uninhabited areas with cruise missiles to impress the American people, with full knowledge that it acomplished nothing beforehand. Made Bill look like a tough guy. Then when the exact location of the target was known 100% for sure, she discouraged Bill from pulling the trigger because of collateral damage involved.

It is quite well known that many Arab states pay bin Laden large sums of money to not cause them trouble in their homelands. But no, the first battle of the gulf war wasn't fought on Saudi Arabian soil, it was 'fought' in the air over Bagdad. The one Iraqi sortie into Saudi Arabia, an attack against Khafja, didn't happen until 10 days later.
First time in this election campaign she has spoken correctly. Of course we could wipe out Iran and if they do not stop their progress towards a nuclear weapon which they have threatened to use against Israel I hope we do go after their nuclear facilities. If either Hitlary or Obama are elected I doubt either would have the guts to do it though. If it needs to be done I hope it is done before Jan 2009

I have been missing out on the MediaMatters TV show somewhere. I have not seen the Daily Kos Newspaper. They must have a myriad of these things in Bartlesville.

On a serious note. No one in their right mind will use Nukes -- which makes the world scary because there seems to be some countries out there that do not seem to be working with a full deck of cards (and if you ask them, they will say the same about US -- the USA)
The thing that is most concerning is if you try to pick a fight with kids in a school yard, you are bound to get one who will not back down. That is the hugh mistake Bush made with his axis of evil speech (and the point he lost my vote and support).
Anyone we elect into office needs to consider the full impact of their statements and be extremely careful NOT to back us into a corner where we only have two options -- fight or look like we are backing down. And make no mistake, if the nukes start flying there will be more than two exchanges (and even if those are limited the entire world will suffer)
This is one time I agree with Obama's assessment --- Sabor rattling is not what is needed now.

According to the book Caspar Weinberger published a number of years ago about "America's Next War", the scenario he forecast was that North Korea and Red China would simultaneously attack South Korea and Taiwan. According to Weinberger, the U.S. would not be ABLE to respond with conventional forces. As I recall, his forecast for the outcome was not pretty for Taiwan.
If Iran even waves a nuke in the general direction of Tel Aviv, somebody will nuke them - Israel, most likely. I think the Chinese are much too smart to attack the Japanese.

Then NX6D pointed out that you were a tech for about 10 years ,and you didn't/couldn't upgrade until the testing requirements were relaxed. We used to toss live Vietcong out of open doors of Huey Gunships at several thousand feet. We would give over captured enemy troops to the South Vietnamese that would blow their heads off with one of our .45 caliber pistols.
We would drop bombs in free fire zones that we knew were full of people. And you remember Mi Lai right?
See the US types do it to. Wouldn't it be nice if all this would end? But it won't. It's the nature of man.

There is no excuse. BTW, the article clearly states that the people who perpetrated these heinous acts considered them war crimes even if you don't. They also said in print that they were TERRORIZING the local populations.

According to the book Caspar Weinberger published a number of years ago about "America's Next War", the scenario he forecast was that North Korea and Red China would simultaneously attack South Korea and Taiwan. According to Weinberger, the U.S. would not be ABLE to respond with conventional forces. As I recall, his forecast for the outcome was not pretty for Taiwan.
If Iran even waves a nuke in the general direction of Tel Aviv, somebody will nuke them - Israel, most likely. I think the Chinese are much too smart to attack the Japanese.
Casper was pretty good at seeing the hand writting on the wall. However I doubt that N.Korea and China are that "tight" any more. And I don't think we really have any interest in Taiwan worth going to war over. The Chinese took over the former British Colony of Hong Kong. That went rather smoothly. Times have changed. What do we need Taiwan for? We got Japan.... hi.
If the Chinese thought they could get away with it, I believe they would indeed go after the Japanese. They still hold a heck of a grudge for the Japanese attacks last century. But that too ain't likely. The Chinese are much more interested in destroying the US like the Japanese have tried to do. ECONOMICALY. Can you say Wal Mart?
We need Japan to take on a more active role in the Pacific. The US needs to pull back to Hawaii and be done with it. This policeman of the world stuff can get us hurt.
