I was 20 when I was first licensed as VE4AMC.

April 22, 1983 and I was a student at the University of Manitoba.

Time flies!

Greetings -may you enjoy many more years of the great hobby we have in common-I have enjoyed 70 years of Ham Radio-active all the years except for WW2 time-if only the HF bands would show a vast improvement there would be more enjoyment !

I have been licenced since 1937 and still going strong !

Cheers

Another "newbie" looking for recognition?...
OH wait. You said YEARS, not daze.
Well, you're still a virtual newbie, but genuine congratulations. You'll end up an OT or OF one of these days!

Cogratulations.

I'm only 4 years past that milestone myself. It's funny how I complained about the limitations of my Novice license and couldn't wait to upgrade. Now,
95% of my on-air activity is within the mode limitations of that first license, except in regard to frequency.

By the way, "Natural language?" Are you a linguist?

For some arcane psychological reason, ham radio is the only hobby where people are so obsessed with how hong they've enjoyed the hobby. You never see this behavior in other hobbies. It is interesting that when the OP boasted about his time in the hobby, he was compelled to to list his academic credentials as well. This is another very bizarre trait that is unique to the ham radio hobby. What latent sense of inferiority drives ham radio operators to do such things?

And since you don't get it, we won't explain it to you. We'll just continue to point at you and laugh behind your back.
