Ahh... IRLP and Echolink, keeping technicians in touch beyond the reach of 2m groundwave for years.

If you want to connect to 150 nodes and spend countless hours calling CQ before you make a contact, continue on sir. I myself found it a waste of a developer's time.

do you have any nodes in your area? http://www.irlp.net and find one in your area. It's as simple as IDing, punching in the DTMF numbers, and waiting for a connection. Then its usually either # or 73 to disconnect (Check with the node info). Let me know if you have any more questions! It's a lot of fun, yes is uses the internet, but its 2008 and its not the only part of the hobby. Enjoy playing around with it and feel free to connect to our node (Rochester Institute of Technology) when we get our link back up, its currently down.

I use IRLP a lot with my ft-60.
When i'm at the university i tune in on the 70cm repeater in Eindhoven (PI2EHV), it's connected to the IRLP network, node number:8600.

So call in if you like to, i'm usually qrv between 14:00 and15:30 GMT
