Mark your calendars to attend the Northeast Louisiana Regional Ham RadioFest in Monroe, Louisiana on Saturday, April 26th, 2008.

Hours:
Doors will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. Saturday and run through mid afternoon.
Set-up: Friday, April 25th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Admission & Prize Tickets:
Admission is $5, which gives you a chance at the Grand Prizes and door prizes.
Additional prize tickets will be available for purchase (1 for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00)

Door Prizes
We will be giving away a number of neat door prizes
VE Testing at 9 a.m.
Jim Ramsey, N5DMX will be coordinating testing for new licenses or upgrades. Testing begins at 9:00 a.m.
Forums begin at 10 a.m.
10 a.m. - Linux Forum- Learn about the very stable Linux Operating System. There are many ham radio applications that run on Linux.
11 a.m. - ARRL/ARES/NTS - Join Louisiana Section Manager, Gary Stratton, K5GLS along with Section Emergency Coordinator, Jim Coleman, AI5B and other section and league officials for a discussion on the latest ARRL news and activities including updates on ARES and NTS.
Noon - LCARC Meeting - The Louisiana Council of Amateur Radio Clubs will host a meeting to discuss activities relating to repeater and frequency coordination in the state.
"Hands on" with Radio:
The Northeast Louisiana ARES Mobile Communications Van will be on site for anyone wanting to operate HF. If you are new to ham radio or interested in getting a license and want to make a contact this will be a perfect opportunity to try it out. See Kevin, W5KGT or David, W5DSG for assistance.
D-Star Demonstration:
Learn more about what D-Star is and ask questions. The W5SHV D-Star Team will be on site to demonstrate the latest D-Star radio gear.
Linux Demonstration:
Learn more about the Linux. The Monroe Linux Group will have a booth to demonstrate what the Linux buzz is all about. Special thanks to Rob Rodgers for his team and their interest in ham radio. Be sure to stop and see all the neat things that the Linux group is doing.
A special release party will be held at the end of the hamfest for the release of a new Linux OS. Free copies will be distributed to all that are interested. Don't Miss It !!!
Test Bench:
