ADDITIONAL STATIONS/FREQUENCIES
FOR THE ANNUAL ARMED FORCES DAY CROSSBAND MILITARY/AMATEUR RADIO COMMUNICATIONS TEST (10 MAY 2008)

Three U.S. Coast Guard stations have been added to the schedule previously posted on this site for the annual military/amateur radio communications tests in celebration of the 58th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day (AFD). Although the actual Armed Forces Day is celebrated on Saturday, May 17, 2008, the AFD Military/Amateur Crossband Communications Test will be conducted 10 May 2008 to prevent conflict with the Dayton Hamvention (16-18 May 2008), which is the same weekend as the actual Armed Forces Day.

Military-to-Amateur cross band operations will take place on the dates/times in ZULU (UTC), and frequencies listed below for each station. Participating military stations will transmit on selected Military MARS frequencies and listen for amateur radio stations in the Amateur bands indicated below. The military station operator will announce the specific amateur band frequency being monitored.

Now, are the frequencies "dial" or MARS "mid-passband?"

Which is it?

Since we hams don't use "mid-passband" designations, AF Day could be interesting....... Ha.

Lots of folks could be 1.5kHz off the mark.

73.

PS. No need to confuse us with the classification of the message, we assumed it was unclassified. However, did an Authorized Derivative Classifier (ADC) pass judgement on its content prior to its release?

These frequencies are "dial" frequencies. Just point and shoot! It's a great time - been involved for years, and am a USAF MARS member as well.

73!

Does anyone know if MARS has a current list of frequencies other than Coast Gaurd? I went to the MARS website and can only find last year's frequencies.
