* Zapping Cancer Cells at 13.56 MHz on "60 Minutes" This Weekend:
John Kanzius, K3TUP, of Erie Pennsylvania, has been working on an
RF-based treatment for cancer that is currently undergoing testing. According to ARRL Media and Public Relations Manager Allen Pitts, W1AGP, Kanzius is scheduled to be on the CBS news show "60 Minutes" on Sunday, April 13
John gave as many plugs to his ham radio background as he could in being
the foundations of hands-on learning that led to his research and
invention," Pitts said. Kanzius, a very active Amateur Radio operator,
aided in the creation of the upcoming ARRL Technology and Amateur Radio
public relations campaign. Read more about Kanzius and his
ground-breaking idea to kill cancer cells with radio waves in the
February 2008 issue of QST.

Hmmmm... does anyone remember the diathermy machines which operated in the 10-11 meter band area? Is history repeating itself at twice the wavelength/half the requency? :)

Contrary to the ARRL press release, there is absolutely nothing new about using RF energy to kill cancer cells.
Back in December, 2006, I had a tumor on my liver that was surgically inoperable removed with a technique known as "RF ablation." My surgeon used a pen-sized "wand" to direct a narrow beam of high frequency RF over the tumor to, quite literally, burn it away.
Radiation has long been used to fight tumors, and what is radiation but super high frequency RF?
While I applaud K3TUP's efforts and how it leads to another effective treatment tool, it is a long, long way from a cancer "cure." You will never cure cancer by destroying cancerous cells; we already have plenty of techniques (chemo, surgery, radiation, etc.) to do that. A cure for cancer will involve finding out why certain cells suddenly start dividing at hyperspeed and spread to other body tissues. Killing cancerous cells with RF, chemo, or whatever is one way to fight the disease, but it's a long way from being a cure. For CBS to promote their segment on Kanzius as a possible "cancer cure" was irresponsible.

Contrary to the ARRL press release, there is absolutely nothing new about using RF energy to kill cancer cells.
Of course not. Dr Royal Rife was researching this in the 20s and 30s. And he really was using the RF to target cancer cells, while this guy is NOT using the RF to target the cancer cells, but rather, to heat up the metal nanoparticles injected into the bloodstream, that they hope to one day get to attach themselves to cancer cells.
The use of RF in this recent idea, is really worthless by itself and doesn't target cancer. Without them being able to figure out how to get metal nanoparticles to attach themselves to cancer cells only, and not other cells, is the most important part to this whole new concept, and the RF part is worthless until they can do that part.
My question is, what happens to the metal nanoparticles afterwards? How do they get that out of the body when the cancer cells are killed off? What if the heating causes them to bond into a big lump of metal that causes blood clots or other horrors?
I don't have any faith in the concept at all, but just thought it was worthy to note a program involving a Ham.
The cure to cancer is more about the state of mind, the mentality and attitude of the caregivers, and nutrition than any technical or medical methods. Every new proceedure always starts out with a higher effective rate when hope and the placebo effect is highest, and drops off when the failure rate becomes published common knowledge, destroying hope, and thus the placebo effect.
While I applaud K3TUP's efforts and how it leads to another effective treatment tool, it is a long, long way from a cancer "cure." You will never cure cancer by destroying cancerous cells.
I agree. The way to go is fixing the conditions that cause cancer and bring on cancer, rather than treating the symptoms of it, that will just return if the cause is not dealt with.
The other ironic thing to me, is the use of RF to treat something that it can also cause in the first place. Why not use tobbaco smoke to try and cure lung cancer?
For CBS to promote their segment on Kanzius as a possible "cancer cure" was irresponsible.
Yes, but no more so than every other placebo methods now in use.
Those that really want to fight and are given hope, do fine without any treatment. Those that have lost the will to fight and live, and are frightened by the nocebo effect myth that all cancer must result in death, will die no matter what treatment they get.

All my best to John and his work. Another user of a frequency generator is Dr. Hulda Clark. Her e-mail address is www.drhuldaclark.org. She is not a medical doctor but she is an excellent researcher. She runs a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico and has been successful in helping people. She said she would never open a clinic until she cured 100 cancer cases.
Read about her work with frequency generators and ridding your body of parasites and make your own conclusions.

John also found a way to burn salt water just like Gas in your car, FACT not fiction. He excites the salt water with RF and the salt water will egnite. up to 1,500 degree's. This is not a put on. He came by this while he was working on his cancer treatment device. I will try to upload the News cast on this web, very interesting.

How words can turn and meanings get altered. What is being attempted is to develop a cancer treatment method that does not have the horrific side affects associated with currently accepted treatments. Current cancer treatments, chemo and radiation, attempt to destroy cancer cells by nearly killing the organism, with a host of ancillary effects that are simply horrific. I didn't hear the word cure in the broadcast.
This work appears unrelated to the flaky group willing to sell you an IC-718 (which currently retails for about $550) for five thousand dollars so you can treat yourself for cancer with 100 watts at 13.65 Mhz.

This is about the 4th time around in QRZ.com.
Serious research is being done on RF treatment of cancer.
Google for Dr John Holt,or the Radiowave Therapy Research Institute.

about 10 or 15 years ago, ted shannon henry of henry radio , in collaboration with dr. christian anderson of ucla developed to piece of rf eqpt which does the same thing as 60 minutes ham.
he explained to me that what i does is increase the blood flow to the tumor and that alone causes it to reduce itself. it doesnt cure cancer, however, or else everyone would be doing it!!
my tel 818-370-9407 and ted's tel is 310-820-1234 ext 310 during workdays. regards,
