Yes Yes! The MC90 microphone is designed to be used with the TS870. The MC60 is OK but you will get best performance from your TS870, or TS2000 if you have the MC90. Most of the other late model rigs have to have an insert other than the standard mic #to make them work 'properly'. Don't expect an TS950, TS850 or TS450 to work well with an MC90...
My audio reports from the guys I work always compliment me on my audio, but you need to be familiar with a TS870/TS2000, before you operate. Both these rigs are entirely different from all previous Kenwoods. In spite of what people will tell you. I have a TS690SAT, I had a TS850SAT, both were used with my DSP100, but the TS870 is superior in every respect. I would like to try a TS2000, but they are scarce in this neck of the woods. Incidently, I use my MC60 on the TS690 on 6M.
Good luck! My DXCC tally on this site tells the story...
