Tribute: Bert "Marty" Bain was born in Gregory, S.D., to Charles Francis Bain and
Lois Vera Myers. Mr. Bain married Masako "Kay" Inoue on March 31, 1965, in Tokyo,
Japan. He graduated from Greeley High in 1958.

Mr. Bain had two successful careers. He served 22 years in the U.S. Navy. He
received a letter of commendation on Sept. 4, 1974, from the Space and Missile Test
Center for successfully restoring communications with SAMTEC back to NASA to support
the Skylab 1 mission. He retired as Chief Radioman in 1980. Mr. Bain then served 16
years as the director of communications for the City of Aurora and was vice chairman
for the State Public Safety Planning Committee.

Mr. Bain enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was also instrumental in
bringing competitive baseball to Greeley.

Mr. Bain died Saturday morning at his home.

Survivors: His wife; two sons, Travis Walker Bain and wife Angela of Loveland and
Tyler Wesley Bain of San Francisco; two grandchildren, Whitney and Jordan Bain, both
of Loveland; two sisters, Lois Ann Thompson and Lola Jo Lauk, both of Greeley; and a
brother, Charles Frances Bain of Las Vegas.

Preceded in death by: His parents.

Services: A Celebration of Life. 11 a.m. Saturday at Moser Funeral Service Chapel,
3501 S. 11th Ave., Evans. Full military honors will be performed by the U.S. Navy
Honor Team.
