Hi folks.

They said it could not be done, but I have done it six times over.

Some have worked me from Scottish isles before since 2001. I shall do it again. Starting Sunday, May 4, 14UTC 14260 +/- from Great Cumbrae CL03, EU-123 and doing another island each day for the remainder of the month. QSL via home call DH5JBR. Direct QSLs (no IRC any more, only green stamps) will receive double sized QSL with 2 pictures and map (known to previous contacts, very nice!) Fort the rest, I will try something new. Look me up on my spot and follow the link to Google Earth to get the idea.

Equipment will be lightweight FT-817 with transistor PA 20/40/100 Watts set at 40 most of the time, LDG Z100 tuner balun and wire up 10 m pole. I also carry a spare rig 100W for emergencies.

I work simplex and in pile-ups I will call by number in call sign alternating up or down the way. This shuts up 90% of the callers and lets me work the weaker stations also. I will only use my call sign and info on the move to the next number, NOT for each QSO. If you hear me working stations with YOUR number just get your report and wait for a bit to get my particulars (plans for tomorrow and the like). I have very little power with me and cannot give all particulars on each QSO of the pile-up. If you hear me working stations with a DIFFERENT number in the call, get a coffee and wait for your turn. Call and QTH will be announced at the turn to the next number.

DO NOT USE 50000+ WATTS TO ASK "CALL PLEASE"! I MAY DO JUST THAT FOR EACH FOLLOWING QSO BRINGING DOWN THE QSO RATE TO 5% OF THE VALUE!

I will do my best to work it fast. I can get aggravated if stations fail to follow this procedure to the point of sudden QRT or at least QSY.

I like last two letters of suffix best. I repeat them and only that station will give the call until I repeat it correctly and give the report. Then the next station is up.

The idea is a "silent" pile-up. A fast and efficient procedure for everybody involved.

I may not be very loud, but I can usually hear very well.

Look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your kind co-operation.
