Dr. L. Alan Bosch, KO4ALA, of Arlington VA. passed in Jan 2008.
Net Manager of the National Capitol ARES Council Net (now Amateur Council) Net, Past President of the Arlington Amateur Radio Club, Red Cross Volunteer, Arlington Chapter, Emergency Coordinator Arlington County ARES before 9/11/01, until his death,member of the Vienna Wireless Society, wrote many articles on Ham Radio, some appeared in ARRL's QST, inventor of the Pizza Pan 2 meter ground plane, and mentor to gifted/talented advanced studies students at the Thomas Jefferson H.S. of Science and Technology in Fairfax County, elmer, and friend to many other ham radio operators, supporter and volunteer of many public service and charity runs/walks/ member of planning Board for the Marine Corps Marathon, Alan truly beleived in "giving back" to the community and hobby in ways most hams should and be proud of. Alan set an example for us all to follow. He will be surely missed by all who knew him. 73 ALAN, glad I knew ye...
