Pay attention investors. The hand wringing on limits to growth and the demand for government regulation of business suggests we are on the brink of reprising the '70s, with Obama ready to take on the role of Jimmy Carter --the naive but smiling charmer-in-chief. Recommendation, if Obama is elected, go short term on investments to deal with the sky high interest rates that are coming. In the area of mortgages, lock them in now, becuase rates will go to 12% or higher.
The party of defeat.

Start buying gold now no matter who wins.
The banking scam you are dealing with is going to continue to get worse for the next 5 years until ALL of those mortgages come to term and are written off.
In the meantime the Fed has only managed to create an artificially inflated market, good only to get the shorts out of the way. Once the shorts are covered that's over as well.
Rates aren't going to matter much in the middle of a depression.
You do know that's what is coming right?

Yes indeed it will come, if enough Americans listen to short term thinkers.

Short term thinkers or not, it's coming.
Better get ready.

I suppose if you say it enough times over the next 30 years you might be right at some point, then again who knows.

Your pretty funny, and not paying much attention to what's happening.
I guess they aren't telling you what's up in the states right now then.
That or you get your "news" from FOX. Same thing either way.
Too bad. Gonna be a lot of suffering for you then.
One good thing will come of it though, the Internet will lose a lot of noisy NeoCons as their connections get shut off.

I sure hope you loaded up on gold in anticipation of this upcoming depression. Be sure to buy lots more too -- at $1000 an ounce its a real good investment.

I don't need to, I don't live in the US anymore.
My accounts are currently held in 3 different currencies, all of them rising against the Dollar on a monthly basis and one that actually gained ground during the last world wide depression.
I live in a country that is nearly finished uncovering and writing off the bad paper sold to it's banks by US corporations, so that will be over with soon enough over here.
And I live in a region that has been rather quickly divesting itself of US monetary ties for the last 6 months. So a collapse of the US Dollar may hurt, but not nearly as bad as you might wish.
Europe learned from the last time around this ride and it is getting ready this time to minimize the damage.
So you see I don't need to worry about a depression in the US, you do.

But but but... Uh. Oh shoot. You ruint my comeback.
You mean that I have to sit here and face the problems that have arisen because other people voted for Bush and you are out in another country?

So you left America and your life is driven by fear and your loyalties are determined by economic interest. Who ever got you over there got a real bargain.
Ahh! The old patriotic attack, nicely done!
You should have pulled that one out earlier for better effect though.
I left because I love my family and want the best for them.
I would not get that in an economically devastated US.
Also my wifes English and she wanted to return home so that my daughter could get a decent education, there were some studies done that showed US college students couldn't even pass A levels. That's the get out of high school test here.
No fear involved what so ever, just practicality and family loyalty.
Family before country, every time.
You must understand what is going to happen to you, even though it is probably only on a gut level. Why else would you seize upon fear as a motivating factor when there are so many more reasonable ones to choose from?
BTW - I would think, as a typical American, that your life was the one driven by fear.
The old Al Qaida-Saddam-Nukyuler-WMD-threat level thing you guys are so fond of.
Boo!
Hehehe.
Damn answered myself in that one!
You seized on fear because you live in fear. So that is the first thing to come to mind for you!
I should have known, you guys tried to scare me for so long that I just started to ignore you.
My bad, I'll not forget what motivates an American that quickly again I can assure you!
After all I can't let the frightened run around me unnoticed, I never know what they'll do in their terror.
You lot are most unreasonable when scared, like a spooked horse.

Same tactics over there, can you get out of view of the cameras?
Same tactics over there, can you get out of view of the cameras?
Nope, nothing like what I dealt with in the states.
People are not afraid. They've dealt with this before and while it is a concern it is not the panic inducing propaganda tool that is the US. They think you guys are a bunch of little girls (straight from the mouths at the pub last week).
As for the cameras, whatever. It's only the cities and they are proven to reduce crime at this point with prosecutions to go with it.
I got no problem with that, and more importantly they are not in my bedroom.
Or listening on my phone.
BTW - Hows the illegal taps on your phones doing?
The US is rapidly catching up to the UK with the cameras, open your eyes and take a look around when your out in town sometime.

Don't worry, there are almost as many cameras here. And pretty soon we'll have more. So get used to it and smile for the camera.
