Post here your way of learning morse code and what way you think is the easiest. I am learning morse code on my MP3 player. I really like it.:):D

20 meters is a pretty nice way to practice code, sometimes I fire it up at 14.057 and just call. Pretty realistic too, QSB and QRM to help simulate that on-air feeling.

Overall I have to give 20 meters a thumbs up! :p

I know nothin about code, but i like to just listin to beeps, and push them myself to what i think they say, probably then beep the wrong thing, and get yelled at.:D

The only way to learn CW is JFDI. The method doesn't matter much, as long as you're having fun. The only way to get up to speed is JFDI. The method doesn't matter much, as long as you're having fun.

Someone who is not motivated and doesn't really, really, badly want it, will never become a code whiz. It's all in your mind, there are no excuses. It's not hard, but learning is so much easier if you know why you do it. Have a look over N0HFF's "The Art and Skill of Radio-Telegraphy", ask your local Elmer, find a code course that fits your needs (if I started from zero today, I'd probably use K7QO's course, with G4FON a being the second choice), and don't waste any time to get started. JFDI.

Additional to my on-air activity (highest priority), I enjoy using programs like RufzXP (http://rufzxp.net/) or "CW Freak" to increase my speed, and listen to Morse ebooks on my mp3 player.

Ok... first its not Morris as in morris the cat. Morris didn't invent the code. morris isn't even human.... Morse is his name.. Samuel F.B. Morse to be precise. Morse invented the code. Morse Code. Also called CW which stands for Continuous Wave.

And it's a language, not a bunch of beeps. Sorry but your apparent ignorance and the way you flaunt it as being cool just pushed my button and irks me. It's not cool to just 'listin to the beeps and then just push them' (wtf that means) to pretend like you're answering them back. You come off sounding like a clueless 10 year old. You really should consider what you're going to say before posting it.

Stephanie, KJ4AZX...

I like to use this website to practice code when there isn't a radio available. Like at work or whatever. You can customize the speed, you can let it generate a QSO, or you can pick actual news articles that will be sent to you in code. So I can like pick WIRED Magazine articles and have them sent to me in CW... Its cool...

G4FON for a few weeks, then practice sending code into a dummy load (duh, turn your power all the way down too) for a few weeks, also listen to REAL contacts that are slow enough for you to figure out, then jump in and DO CODE!

The more you do it, the better you get and the more FUN it is!

CW is addictive.

I think JWA is just trying to get your goat my personal favourite practice tool is 40m somewhere around 7.055 just as realistic as 20m but often a touch slower

I learned morse code the hard way. Using old cb walky talkies(with the code key and dit and dahs printed on the front) in my early years. This was before I knew anything about AR.
