Here's a quick question for the keepers of the ZED concerning the folks that have been banned.

What do you think would happen if you restated their ability to post without telling them --- do you think the folks that were banned would find out and stir up more trouble, or do you think they would simply re-appear and behave themselves this time?

I predict massive enuresis...but what do I know.
Good luck on your quest.

I got my privies back and I didn't know about it. Though I was restricted from the T&O section only.

1) Google Delphi Forums
2) Start a "Banned from QRZ" forum
3) Play with your friends over there.

I was banned years ago and was allowed back. I learned my lesson and do not call people names or personal attacks (I think).

I think most banned members would be very careful with their words if brought back.

Perhaps you could tutor certain people on the political junkies page? Certain people there manage to identify a dozen stupid people every day.

In all the forums I have been in, I would bet Political Junkie and possibly Rag Chew Central have the highest percentage of Bannees.

You just gotta keep your cool. Many times I will type curse words for fun and the like and then just backspace and change the wording to something more acceptable. Others just don't ever learn.

I refuse to behave myself. Pull my string, and I am off!

Moderating forums, such as these, is not an easy task. There are many discussions on these forums which live longer than they should and, imo, it takes a lot to get banned.

Then there are those who post just for the sake of posting. Their posts have no real substance, and the only objective is to increase their post count.

But, hey, it's an internet forum...thats what it's all about....right?

Well, maybe.

However, I'd like to see a limit on the amount of posts a user, whether banned or a non-subscriber, can post within a certain time limit. Say, 5 posts per day for a non-subscriber or 2 posts per day for someone who was once banned and in a probationary period. With this type of restriction in place I bet we would see some more courteous posts.

Best,
Brian

I think everyone should have taken up boxing when they were young.

After being in boxing and judo, you learn to control your rage after getting @!$$+d and is a part of the training so you can think clearly. Otherwise the other guy will end up winning every time. You will need to learn to control yourself.

The parents always taught us kids self discipline when we were growing up which helped.

OOOOOHHHHHH. I just increased my post count by one.

There are two forums for those who have been banned here. Try eHam and hamsexy.
