New Youth Forum

Hello fellow kids in ham radio.

There will be a new youth forum started on hamisland.net if more kids join up.

It is a great site, the owner is a family man, he has teenage daughters of his own. This is a great opportunity for all of us. I simply ask that you join the site, a youth board will then be started.

This is a nice place to be. There is no language, strict filters. There are very kind people there. There aren't any code/no code hatefests, and so far there haven't even really been any fights.

Join up, give it a shot.

I pray to god no one can possibly fight on a forum for kids, it wouldn't be a good example for young ''Hams''. But this sounds great and kind people young youths would look up to.:)

So, how long have you been a ham? I have only been one for 6 months. I saw your ham shack on your profile and it looks really good. That is something that I would like to develop. I still have to get my general license but I know I will get it. Anyways, cheerio for now!

I've been a ham for about 3 years now, since I was 10 (I'm a real old fart :) )

My shack was developed over those 3 years, I hope to soon sell my 706 and get a 746pro. That should happen before the end of next summer.

You'll do fine with your general, HF is fun, hope to work you someday.

Yeah, my friend Brennen has his extra and he does a lot of DXing and HF work. You might have talked to him before.(ki4prk)
Three years.....wow....well you are not that old but I can tell that you are really involved in HAM stuff. I will too when I can afford all of the equipment. You must have hundreds of dollars of stuff. Well, if not it looks great!

Yes,

I will admit, most of it was gifts. My granpda, K9MMS, has been a ham for over 50 years. He had tons of stuff laying around and instead of throwing it out (or selling it) he gave it to me.

I've never talked to Brennan on the air, but I see him on the zed. I also started writing articles for eham.net so he'll probably find me there too.

I'm surprised i've never heard him on the air, he says he does mainly CW like myself. oh well...
