Great post. Found 206 industries in this area dumping jobs overseas. I think Florida only had 5 in the same area. Time to be a redneck, get a pickup, some guns and dogs and take one of their jobs for voting for Bush. Twice.:cool:

The WSJ has stated that there is a consistent 7% of US workers not counted because they have been out of work for more than 26 weeks above and beyond the official count. This has been published a while ago, but there is no reason to believe thins have changed given the FACT that the US LOST 1500 jobs just last month.
In fact if you weren't so lazy you could just pop over to the BLS site ands see that they have posted that the following:
Change in Unemployment Level:
History -195,000 in Feb 2008
Change in Employment Level:
History -255,000 in Feb 2008
Change in Civilian Labor Force Level:
History -450,000 in Feb 2008
Notice the discrepencies:
Unemplyment is down by 195,000, but the labor force shrank by 450,000. And DAMN! The number of employed shrank by 255, 000! That means they aren't even counting them any more! That's a net loss of over half a MILLION workers!
Yet to keep up with population growth there needs to be a net job creation of 350,000 per month.
But over 500,000 just disappeared off the rolls. In a month.
Oh, and the total REALLY unemployed? Right around 18 million if the BLS numbers are right.
That would be about 12%.
Not that your going to even understand any of this anyway.

However, even assuming your percentages are correct, they're STILL less than when the bill was passed. That brings us right back to fewer people unemployed.

In any case, take the time to look up your cities people, they are your jobs that are leaving.

The DOL stopped counting the long-term unemployed (those who exhaust their unemployment benefits), underemployed, and the discouraged years ago! If the long-term unemployed, underemployed, and discouraged were factored into the unemployment rate, it would easily move into the double-digit range.

They are unemployed as well yet never got counted to begin with.
A lot of businesses have set up shop on the other side of the border from me in Mexico with the new rules a few years ago.
The people that work for these American companies in many cases are paid so poorly that they will never have a chance to purchase the products made there.
So the come over here to make more money, daily.

All we've established is you haven't established anything. Repeating it doesn't make it so. How many unemployed people are there who aren't counted as unemployed?
The unemployment rate measures those who are out of work and actively seeking work. Anyone who has been unemployed more than 6 months does not count in the unemployment rate. They are considered to have stopped looking for work, because they believe there are no jobs. This measurement was instituted when Richard Nixon was president, and has been 'finessed' ever since. However, conservatives argue that there isn't really much of a difference, while others believe there is.
The official unemployment rate is now lower than it was when President Bush #1 was in office. Of course, that was not a great time in our economy, either. It was a major recession, in part brought on by the Savings and Loan collapse/bailout that happened during the Reagan/Bush I spate of mergers and deregulations.
