Yes, but for what? The mind reels with images of things for which Ms Sheehan is electable. None of them would fit the category of public offices, however, nor, indeed, even that of mother.

Yes, but for what?
Just to piss off the Democrats. ;)

To? Or from?
Who cares.
Her claim to fame is complaining about her son dying at war.
He enlisted in an all volunteer military and knew the risks when he did.
In my time many of us did not have a choice but to serve in an unpopular war.
I often wonder if this woman supported the war when her son enlisted.
Her son died doing what he wanted to do and she won't let it go.

Ken I agree. When I was drafted, the bridge to Canada was 3 miles further down the road. Still think they should have a draft or civic duties for everyone, no deferments, no sex(male/female) exemption, everybody from 19 to 21yrs old.
Gee I wonder what bush's girls would have done?

I think it's more a matter of her son dying in a war based on lies.

How many 19 year old kids do you know, that know their own mind. Most can't hit their backsides with both hands. Yes, they are told they could die in combat or in training. Most would drink a dozzen beers and drive 100mph to.
Kids join the service for many reasons, most to get the heck out of the house, a few because they really feel a sense of patriotism. And a very large number think they will get an education on the GI bill.
Civic duty is a good idea but only if it is on US soil.
I think it's more a matter of her son dying in a war based on lies.
Yeah, that is the whole point. Though it is lost on the soulless NeoCons that inhabit the US.

Remember her? Her dad ran for prez four years ago...
And you think Viet Nam was not lies?
I would hope not anyway.
Yes I served. I did not like it but I did serve.
I ran into a few classmates a few years later that went to Canada. I have no respect for them whatsoever.
The politicians can forgive them, I won't.
Serving in time of war is most likely the ultimate educational experience you are going to get.
I am glad that my kids have not been subject to what I went through.
I know, reinstate the draft and find how many people are aware of the war and care about their kids.

I forgive everyone. Except the politicians who orchestrated and prolonged that corrupt and unnecessary war. Some men went and fought. Some went to Canada to escape the draft. I can't hold that against them. Nobody wants to give up something as valuable and precious as their life for a war that is blatantly wrong and blatantly corrupt. I forgive those who protested against the war, whatever sense of civil disobedience they engaged was out of a sense of moral obligation. I forgive those who refused to go and went to jail for it. And I forgive those who went and fought, they did what they believed was right or followed the course of action they felt was necessary.
The point is that whether one servers, or ran, or went to jail or protested we have forgotten the lessons that were learned and we have allowed the same situations to prevail yet again.

Uhm, do you just figure if you say it loud enough and long enough, folks will begin to believe you? Or, do you simply have no concept of the meaning of the word, "lie?"
Wait a minute. You're right. The only "lie" I know of was Saddam maintaining he had WMD due to his fear of Iran and his mistaken belief that the US would never invade.
Silly me. You're correct!

Yet they cannot seem to impeach the President? I wonder why? Could it be the proceeding's evidence doesn't exist, or that it would implicate too many prominent democrats?
Best of luck to the whole gaggle of feckless democrats who can't seem to lay blame or stop the War. Losers all the way around...

The fact that the Democrats didn't even have the power of subpoena in Congress until a little over a year ago may have something to do with the lack of serious Congressional investigation. Besides which, there is lots of blame to go around in Congress- mostly among Republicans - and Congress protects its' own. If anything, I am most disappointed that Henry Waxman's committee has not publicly disemboweled some key members of the administration yet. I'm sure that "for the good of the country" we'll just bury all the bodies and the scandals and forget about it. Otherwise, the next administration would be one long hearing.
