View Full Version : Maryland Hams Be Careful of Those Coax Baluns
This is getting silly. I never knew a noose, was a symbol of racial hatred until a noose was found in NYC hanging on a doorknob in Columbia U. (i think).
I always thought a noose was for hanging cowboys or roping cows until now that is. So you hams in Maryland, watch how you fashion those baluns or you may find yourself answering questions about the coax shape.

This is good. I am glad to see that this law will probably be passed. Nooses are very disturbing. They are symbols of violence, hatred, and racism. It's time we did something about them. This law sends the clear meesage that such statments of violence, hate and racism will not be tolerated. I say Kudos to this new law.
Let's send messages of peace and good will as opposed to messaged of hate and threats of violence and death and other evil works.

Oh come on. You're saying a piece of rope fashioned into a noose should be illegal? What next, will you be able to draw a rope and not get arrested, will I still be able to walk my dogs with nooses around their necks? What other sailors knots will be prohibited?
Little kids are getting thrown out of school for using their fingers as if they were pointing a gun, shapes of guns or scribbling a gun on a piece of paper is enough to get you expelled.
This supposed law is an abomination and an intrusion on our liberties and an attack on constitutional free speech and free expression. You should be against that and not your abysmal flowery treatment of peace and good will to all. Wake up.

Don't be such a closet racist, come right on out and embrace your hatred!
You know as well as anyone here that it is in the context, this was done to intimidate a black professor. It was a clear message that the KKK can still get you too darkie.
You are so disingenuous in this post, pretending to be ignorant of the circumstances of the incident.
So come clean, you have already said it in a round about way anyway:
You are a narrow minded bigot.
At least try to be honest, OK?

Perfect example of liberalism gone amuk. Come off your soapbox. You know as well as I, this is a violation of constitutional guarantees of free speech and expression. What this has to do with the KKK is beyond me but you said it. Are you insinuating the KKK put the noose on the doorknob? If so, you know more than most and I would definitely go to the NYC police and report what you know. That or go to Maryland and voice your concerns for the protection of free speech and the freedom to make a knot in a piece of rope. first time in my life I ever heard of a rope as a racist symbol only for black people. What next - Cadillacs?
BTW, I don't know anyone who has been hanged lately except those who deserved it like Saddam.

Try again, liberalism has nothing to do with it.
This was a racially motivated threat at a black faculty member.
You are a liar for suggesting anything else.

Really? You know that for a fact because the NYC police investigation into it found nothing. No actor, no video, no prints, no nothing except a professor that was about to be fired for incompetence suddenly finds a so-called symbol or racial hatred hanging on her door.
Until this incident happened, I had no idea a noose was a symbol of racial hatred nor did any of the lilly white folk I talked to in my lilly white cracker neighborhood.

Thats right, because we ALL know, that morals and ethics that are enforced by legislature is the most effective type! This type of enforcement in no way can compete with morals and ethics that were taught by parents. :D

Sorry to hear you and your neighbors are so damn ignorant then.
Perhaps your neighborhood should refrain from the upcoming elections, you don't seem informed enough about your fellow countrymen to be making such important decisions as who should run their country for them.
BTW - The police haven't caught anyone for the swastika on the Jewish profs door a couple of weeks later either. Your insinuation that she put the noose up herself in combination with your ignorance about race relations in the US exhibits the true worth of your opinion.

Some people don't keep up with news like that on the Jena Six. They are ignorant of facts and events of their own country.
Such is the life of a NeoKon.

The new law really won't change much. It just specifically adds hanging a noose with the "intention to intimidate or threaten" to the list of crimes. While I do think that it's silly to consider something as benign as a "knot" racist, I'm really not all that concerned about this new law.
I do not believe that new laws are the correct way to eliminate racism. I believe that education is the key. There will always an ignorant few who choose to hate someone just because of the colour of their skin, regardless of any law to the contrary.
73 to all
Keith
Totally agree with you on all points.
In this case there was the context to be considered, and that made it a racist action.
