What kind of low life scum would rob a man in a wheel chair?
This is sick.
A Caroline County man who is confined to a wheelchair was the victim of an armed home invasion Wednesday - but it turns out he didn't have what the robber was looking for.
Robert Newcomb says he was awakened by the sound of his front door being kicked in at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. Newcomb says the robber, who was armed with a gun, was in his bedroom only seconds later.
"I had nothing on but a TV for light and he pointed a sawed-off shotgun in my face," Newcomb said.
Newcomb, who was paralyzed from the waist down by a car wreck nearly three years ago, says the robber didn't want money, but demanded painkillers - something Newcomb didn't have.
"He said, 'I want some Oxycontin. You're in a wheelchair - I know you got them,'" Newcomb said.
