Today was the first time I had really talked politics with others since Feb 5th in person.
WOW!
One thing I can say for sure, conservatives within the GOP will NOT be voting for McCain and they are ADAMANT about that. It's not just me, but MANY will either be writing in or voting 3rd party.

Alot can chaing in the next 7 months. Being as Dr. Paul has about 0 chance of actually claiming the whitehouse, I'm starting to look at my other options.
Man I hate least of all evil choices. But I see it as a slightly better choice than throwing away your vote.
Many make the mistake of thinking that all conservatives are also Republicans, true conservatives, are conservatives first, they may or may not be Republicans, while it is true they tend to vote Republican. McCain's views on illegal immigration, abortion, tax cuts, to name a few, are far from conservative ideas.

True, there are differences. But, there are many more areas of agreement. We'll just have to keep pressure on John to do the right things.

I'm starting to look at my other options.I will either write in Ron Paul's name, or I'll vote for the Libertarian Party ticket. McCain, Hillary, and Obama are NOT getting my vote.

are very scant indeed... I would almost rather see 4 years of Obama than 4 years of the psuedo republican Mc(p)ain. The Clintons are so crooked, that when they die, they will have to be screwed into the ground. Obama is at least a clean and articulate Black candidate. Ask Joe Biden.

Then you understand why I would have preferred to vote for Obama. The Republicans have become deviants they don't even make good Democrats. They are just deviants with goals not geared to the benefit of the American society. George Bush made a very big mistake by going to war with Iraq on bad Intel or outright lies, I can't be sure which it was, but we have screwed ourselves.
So I will vote for Obama if he can get over his troubles otherwise I may have to select Clinton just because I can't vote for that deviant McCain. The election goes the way it goes, start by getting new Republicans elected that are grounded in reality at the next opportunity, this time it is too late...
Make jobs not war, build a solid economy not an empire doomed at the outset.

Tax cuts without offsetting reductions in spending is supply-side economic policy, which has proven to be anything but fiscally conservative economic policy. The one thing that I will give McCain is that he is a true fiscal conservative. He believes that tax cuts only follow reductions in spending.

The one thing that I will give McCain is that he is a true fiscal conservative. If you tell a lie often enough......it's still a lie!

They are just deviants with goals not geared to the benefit of the American society.NEWSFLASH - The Democrats are NO better than the Republicans. Sickening isn't it? :(
Yes, Democrats are responsible for the last 7 years of misery. Every failed policy from Iraq, to the money market, to the record Porkbarrel projects, to moving DST! In fact it was one Democrat, Clinton didit!
Conservatives ARE voting for McCain. Obviously they are. Look at the polls. Notice how all the other GOP candidates are all gone. It's not Conservatives that have a problem with McC, it's those dreaded neokons.
And that's why I differentiate. McCain is a Conservative. But he's not a neokon. Tsk-tsk.

A write in vote or any of the others is just a vote for the democratic nominee.McCain is the only one that can beat Hillary or Obama. I really do not think all conservatives are just stupid. Most of us will vote McCain to try and keep a dem out of the white house.

Most of us will vote McCain to try and keep a dem out of the white house. There is very little if any policy difference between McCain and Hillary/Obama. All are going to raise taxes. All are going to keep us in Iraq. All are going to increase the size and spending of the federal government. All are going to be beholden to special interests. All are going to ignore the Constitution.
So what exactly is the difference?
