WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has moved into a significant lead over Barack Obama among Democratic voters, according to a new Gallup poll.
The March 14-18 national survey of 1,209 Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters gave Clinton, a New York senator, a 49 percent to 42 percent edge over Obama, an Illinois senator. The poll has an error margin of 3 percentage points.
The poll was a snapshot of current popular feeling, but Clinton trails Obama in the state-by-state contest which began in January to select a nominee to face presumptive Republican nominee John McCain in the November election to succeed President George Bush

Gallup's the only poll showing her in the lead.
She needs a much bigger lead than that to catch up.
Other polls, such as Rasmussen, are showing him already starting to recover from the "scandal".
So, no, he's not out of it.
Soooo - Is Obama Toast ?
No. It just looks like he was left in the oven a little longer.

He used to get "baked" in his younger years.
He's forever tainted with poor judgment and political expediency (lying) over this issue.
If nominated, the general election will expand and drill this issue. It'll be great...
Let's really find out what Obama's about...
Let's stop fawning all over this guy, and really vet this politician/demagogue.

Oh, look, Obama's human. Surprise. Of course, he didn't lie, although he did practice expediency. Guess your repeating that incorrect claim is just your way of showing that you're human too.

No. It will be a fiasco. It's precisely the sort of microscopic examination of irrelevant minutia that no candidate could withstand that keeps the best people from running for office in the first place.
Let's really find out what Obama's about...
Indeed. Let's make him president and test him under fire.

One would have to start fawning before one could stop.
You're demonstrating part of what is wrong with the political process in this country and you're doing it in a way that demonstrates that you're part of the problem.
The presidency goes not to the perfect candidate, but to the most suitable among those running. Thoughtful voters do not measure candidates through the behavior of others, and Obama's behavior in this has been a classic demonstration of grace under pressure.
He did not whine that it was unfair as would Clinton. He did not dodge the issue of his relationship with Wright, as has McCain over some of his supporters. He did not take the easy out of abandoning a friend who has done some harm but much good. Rather, he took the opportunity to make one of the most thoughtful speeches on race relationship made in this country in forty, possibly more, years.
Obama's speech demonstrated exactly why he should be the next president of the United States. It was a good speech. It tried to put a difficult topic in a light where progress could be made. It was an opportunity to open a much needed dialog.
But you would throw all of that away, simply because he wasn't quiet fast enough to have made that step first.
If you judge those around you as harshly and unforgiving as you judge Senator Obama, I pity your children.

I'm not campaigning for him.
I'm just sick of how voters abuse the electoral process and then claim it's all 'the politicians' fault when we don't get good candidates.
That and I'm tired of people lying to call someone a liar. The spin-doctors and dirty tricksters need to be ejected from the system, or at least challenged with real data and straight logic.

Please don't vote. The system only works for an informed electorate.
