Downsize pics

Let's say I have a 1.8 MB pic, how do I get it to a small enough size to post under the 976.6 kb limit? Zipping did not work for me. Went from a 1.8 to a 1.7. Whatcha think?

You'll need photo editing software that can make the adjustment for you... Zipping it won't correct the problem. All it does is compress the entire file and then stores it in an archive file structure with a .zip extention. It no longer would be a valid image once you zipped it up. You'd have to unzip it, and still it would be 1.8 mb. The image software like AcDsee or paintshop pro has the ability to not only physically change the size, but it can compress it and change the filesize to something smaller.

If you email me the picture right now I'll make the adjustment for you, and then email it right back. I'm still on.. I'm also listening to 7178.0 if you want to pop on up 40m to talk at the same time.

Find the free program Irfanview on the net and add the modules in it, also free, it is an small program, but can do batch cropping improve quality etc.

Using tha already years, no need for an oversized photo editting proggy.
