View Full Version : US Amateurs No Longer to use US Airwaves
News Flash, hopefully NOT some time in the future.
Taking gun control to the next logical step, the US Government takes action to prevent Amateur Radio operators from shooting their mouths off over the airwaves. Effective immediately all US Amateur Radio license are suspended. Those who wish to continue to participate in this hobby are told they must complete a background investigation, complete a 30 WPM code test, and re-test on their highest level of license obtained every 3 years.
The only catch is neither the FCC or the Congress is providing funding to complete the background investigations, providing FCC resources to do the testing, nor are authorizing VE's to administer the test.
Unconfirmed comments from government sources, "1st Amendment my over paid pension plan, that should finally shut this crowd up."
Members of QRZ could not be reached for comment --- those left who actually know what radio equipment looks like are busy hiding their equipment with the hope someone will come to their senses ...............
W3SY, Da Pope quoted as saying, "I told you, but no ---- you didn't listen. If you would have voted for me there would have been a Chicken Butt in every pot and two ham rigs in every shack."

Speak for yourself, station. While I may be a half century old, my XYL is younger, still frisky, and she knows the location of my "on" switch.
And she is very adept at flipping said switch. :D

Google for "2 girls 1 cup", but be warned, it's NSFW, and probably not safe for mixed company, either. It just might squick (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=squick) you, too.

Actually, this is the more likely scenario:
Effective immediately all US Amateur Radio licences are suspended. Those who wish to continue to participate in this hobby must complete a background investigation and pass a urine drug test (at their own expense), and this is to be repeated with each licence renewal.
From this date forward, all transmitting equipment must be commercially manufactured and type accepted, and the operator is not authorised to make internal modifications.
The content of examination elements will be limited to FCC regulations, operating procedures and electrical safety. All technical content in amateur radio examinations is to be deleted.

And she is very adept at flipping said switch. :D
I love it when someone pops in to beat their chest on threads like this...... proof positive they are 'doing without'.
