www.CQtube.com is online and ready to take you videos, audio files and photos.

As always it is completley free to use and is still very much in development. Any suggestions for improvements our bug notification are appriciated.

Currently, you may load files up to 100meg in size. Bandwidth and speed reports are most important to us whilt we assess usage of both bandwidth and CPU.

Thanks and enjoy the site. www.CQtube.com

YouTube is a monster. Maybe a specialized version for our stuff will be easier to access.

Observations so far:

60Kb/sec upload speed will take about three hours for a 800K file, whew. OH and don't use the browser window while it's underway, or you're screwed and will have to start over again.

Minimize the window with the progress crawl bar, and open a new window including for visits on other subpages within CQTube.

I don't know anyone named "cq", so I don't call him.

OH, I never was good at math.
756 MB, and the site is limited to 100MB.
SO much for that.

It took just under three hours to find out it didn't "take."

Back to YouTube for me.

Hello.

Google already has a federal injuction filed.
http://www.google.com/permissions/index.html
Utube is a patented concept, so there WILL be trouble in that arena.
I am just watching this from the sidelines, but it is going to be bloody before it is all over.

CQoogle is a joke and so is this. Both sites are painfully slow and google doesn't generate nearly the amount of false positives that some claim to warrant the need of a specialty search engine. Maybe if CQoogle was as fast as google.. but naww. Plus, name playing is silly to begin with. What's next, CQharmony.com? I can just see it now.

I spended some time for registration and try to upload some of my videos, but alway I get a "no valid verification code" ...answer.

I changed my email address and remain the same problem.

I want to make some contribution to this site.

Just what the doctor ordered, more stuff for the bloated internet.
What the internet really needs is an enema because during peak demand times it is already becoming constipated. If they could find a way to make it more streamlined than those other comercial sites that have become garbage bins for every 5 year old kid with access to a PC and a camera, THAT WOULD BE A GOOD THING...

As for the legal point of an idea or rehashing an idea ?
One day soon you may be suied for thinking so lets all stop now before we violate some corporations monopoly on it.....................

Where was the federal injunction filed because the link you provided only showed permissions. Nothing on there saying they had an injunction filed.

WAY TO SLOW to be of any use. The playback catches up with the buffer causing videos to stop and then restart all through out the video.

I double checked my connection on youtube with no issues at all. Video's came in quickly.

Why are some of you guys so angry with this fellow ham who seems to have put up a decent site for all of us...im still trying to find the criminal activity he is apparently guilty of. I dont know him, but i have looked at the websites hes provided and i like them, every single new venture has bugs to be worked out and im sure this is no different.

I went to CQtube and the videos loaded almost immediately...very easy to navigate and looks nice, it obviously isnt some cheapy-crap little thing designed to mess with us. I think mob mentality is starting to take over this thread....again!!

Granted, he may have some rough edges to his posting style, he may also get served a couple of C-n-D letters from the bigs...but thats about it. And why is this such a big deal?? let HIM deal with that and change the name when the lawyers/hounds of hell come knocking.

I say Thank You for providing another avenue to our hobby/service...man, we sure can bitch and complain with the best of them. I dont know about some of you, but i still get excitement and joy from ham radio....my HOBBY, ham radio....you know, the thing we do to help us relax and have fun??? yes, THAT hobby. Relax guys, if he has to change the name (and he probably will) then so what...enjoy the site, or get DSL so you can actually use it.

None of this is worth helping your cardiologist pay off his Porsche....breathe! :p

I wasn't knocking his idea. It looks like an interesting site and I think that a radio related video site IS a good idea. It looks like he has spent quite a bit of time putting it together.

It's just that nobody will be using it if the download speeds are not improved. You must have a very close connection to the server if they are working. I just checked again and the video's are running slow, choppy, and nowhere near youtube/google video download speeds.

If a person posts a thread on the front page of a site like qrz.com then he is welcoming a critique of whatever the subject might be. Postive or negative. Some of the more flamboyant members of QRZ have not even posted on this thread yet.

I think some people just get bent out of shape because they didn't think of it.
The internet is a shared medium and if your willing to pay can create almost anything you want.
If you don't like it, do visit it. Comments and suggestions are almost always welcome but need to be spoken in the proper way.

Thanks for the link, and thanks to the people who put up the site. I just watched the 'faraday cage' video and enjoyed it. Had a couple of breaks in the stream, but the vid was worth it. I was not disappointed, but then I never expect any small web effort to compete with the big name sites and their advertising money.
