Did not take long for Governor Jindal to start cleaning up one of the most corrupt DEM run states.

Hopefully Piyush "Bobby" Jindal is smart enough to maintain his distance from the corrupt version of the Republican party that is currently running for the Presidency. I bet if they asked him to be run as VP he would say NO!

What, you'd have him belly up to the bar with the corrupt version of the Democrat party that's running instead?

Since right now they are less corrupt then the Republicans, yes.
This is just a matter of the best of the worst perhaps the NeoCons & TheoCons will be shed and/or lessened and there will be a chance to save the Republican party.
PS: Yes that is me saddling up to the Democratic party so I should have cleaned my glasses as I thought you were talking about me. And yes he can saddle up to Barack Obama if that is who he has to deal with I know nothing of Louisiana's Democrats nor do I care. In NY we have had both good and bad Republicans and Democrats.

Personally, I plan on "none of the above" come Nov.

I found this quote in the article most interesting.
"I’ve talked to C.E.O.’s in New York, even the president of the United States,” Mr. Jindal said in an interview, and when “you ask them for more investment, more help on the coast and other areas, their first reaction always is: ‘Well, who do you need to know? Who do I have to hire? Is this money going to end up in somebody’s pocket?’ ” "
EVEN the President of the United States??????? Humm seems as if your view is skewed.

Seems so scattered that it proves almost nothing... try adding more context.
I just think of the lies about the war in Iraq and the excessive BS about the war on terror and that gives me enough reason not to vote for Republicans.
No propaganda about taxes, Muslim names, and references to better Republicans is going to get me to save the current deviant variety that dominates the party right now.
PS: Clarification
All 3XR was trying to do was to establish that the rest of the corrupt Republican party is acceptable by citing an example of one who might be better then the rest, certainly better then the current President. So my reaction was just aimed at his attempt to hide the underlying racist basis of some of his other posts by citing as an example an Republican with an East Indian background. Sorry he will have to do better then that

As one who will be directly affected by what Gov. Jindal does or doesn't do, let me say that the example cited wherein businesses ask, "Who do I have to pay off to do business in Louisiana?" is an accurate one. This is the result of decades of corruption at all levels of Louisiana government.
Gov. Jindal knows he can't change this overnight, and he also knows that he's going to face heavy resistance from the entrenched "Good 'Ol Boy" network every inch of the way. But at least he's trying, which is a heluva lot more than I can say for his predecessors who created the problems he's now trying to solve.
A Special Session of the Louisiana legislature ended yesterday with passage of a number of comprehensive ethics reform measures. These reforms are by no means perfect and they don't go as far as Gov. Jindal wanted, but what is making its way to his desk is an order of magnitude better than the so-called "ethics" laws currently in place that have so many loopholes and exceptions as to be virtually meaningless.

Hard to add context to someone who is scatter brained.

or is visually impaired, so my context was driven by my current hatred towards Republicans. Hard not to be angry at 3XR :D
Bobby Jindal: Yes
George Bush: Jail
You guys like to babble about "corruption" in Louisiana which I think is funny.
Gee, who was Governor in LA for 8 years recently. Mike Foster R-LA from 1996-2004. Seems like you had your chance.
Or what about David Treen (1980-1984) or Buddy Roemer who morphed into a Repbulican in 1991-1992.
Seems like all the crowing about Jindal and "corruption" is just more Republican white noise. If the corruption is really there, you guys had your chance to fix it and you didn't.
More lies from the right. Speak up when you have something of substance to say.

Well, well...more vitriol from Dave. I was wondering when you would jump in with one of your typical scorched-earth rants.
Foster was a Democrat who switched to Republican during his campaign because he saw which way the wind was blowing. As is so typical of Democrat and RINO administrations, the state budget more than tripled under his misrule. The economy went into the toilet and the only jobs that got created were state government deadhead positions. Ethics laws with loopholes big enough to drive a Winnebago through were passed and then mostly ignored. Ethics reform was given lip service during Foster's and Blanco's administrations but that's all it was - talk.
And now we have a governor that is actually trying to do something positive about corruption as opposed to his predecessors, all of whom were part of the "Good 'Ol Boy" machine...even Blanco, who was clueless and ineffective to boot.
Before you throw stones at Louisiana, why don't you try cleaning up that godawful mess in Sacramento, starting with your budget deficit that Gray Davis (a Democrat, lest you forget) left you as his parting gift?
You're directing your fire at the wrong guy. I said nothing about Louisiana, I'm not sure why you southern types are so thin skinned.
The original poster made the reference to "corruption" and that Jindal (the republican) was going to clean it up. I merely pointed out you guys have had Republican governors in the past, and nothing alledgedly was done. Jindal is a nobody, and he'll get consumed by the "culture" just like everyone else.
For XR to frame this as a (as he so illiterately protrays) it a "dem" problem is Bravo Sierra. It's a culture issue, just like other states have "culture" issues too. I'll agree Foster, Treen and especially Roemer were steeped in the "culture". To frame Louisiana's culture issues as a purely "democratic" issue is just plan stupid.
Your cheap shot against Gray Davis was uninformed and unwarranted. Davis had the misfortune of being a rather aloof figure with the media, which lead to most of his problems. The SF Chronicle editorial board hated him from day one. They bitched about his fundraising but didn't say boo about Arnie raising even more money than Davis. Davis did more for Siskiyou and Modoc counties than the last 4 governors combined, yet he's a "liberal" so all the right wing morons voted for Arnie. The budget has been a problem in California since before your disgusting hero Ronnie Reagan. To pin that on Davis is dishonest and wrong. Arnie wants bond issues and other delaying tactics instead hitting the budget issues head on. He's not a leader, he's another coward, and unfortunately probably the next US Senator from CA in 2010. What a disgusting concept.
The only thing "good" about all this is the conservative meatheads here in CA hate Arnie almost as much as I do. They'll probably do the the most stupid thing possible and try to nominate Tom McClintock for US Senate so he can get beat for statewide constitutional office for the fifth time. Talk about a loser.
