Conditions were awesome on 160 over the weekend. I worked 37 states over a period of a few hours without even trying. The lower 75% of the band was very crowded but for the most part I found the contesters to be polite and friendly on 160. How did you guys do?

Our club effort got 700+ QSO's, but we lacked a couple of states for WAS.

We did get a better over all score than last year, even with fewer multipliers.

Overall, it was very good. Only had a couple of incidents with people, but that happens every year.

I did not get to participate, I had to work this weekend. I did just get 160 capabilities on line though so maybe I can work the band some and start getting the feel for it.

I only had a little time to devote to it, but it was great. As you said, the band was in great shape, typical of low sunspot activity -- Not enough ionizatino of the D layer but sufficient ionization of the E and F layers.

Very similar to the CW 160 contest last month.

I don't do phone contests, but I did check out the activity after I was finished with with the NAQP RTTY test. 160 was packed with signals, full of contesters below 1950. Above 1950, it was full of ragchewers complaining about the contesters.:D

Yep....best 160 conditions I've EVER heard up here. Even VP6DX was q5.

I got my first 160 meter contact during the runup to the contest. I got 4 more contacts during the contest. This with a 160 full-wave dipole all coiled up! I was very blessed to have this rig work.

I didn't really do any phone contesting....listened around a lot this time. But I did catch VP6DX on CW the night after the contest. I never really paid any attention to 160m before this year and I'm kind of sad that I didn't - it's a very interesting and challenging band, especially when you're confined to smaller antenna setups.

That's one thing I truly enjoy about this hobby - if I get tired of any one band or mode, there's plenty more new things to try.

Tonight Tuesday, 160m was as dead as a hammer.
