In 15 minutes or so, the NAQP RTTY contest will be winding down.
So, who out there besides AE1P Neil and WG7X Gary were playing ????
I ended up with 228 Q's and 90 multipliers for
20,520 points.
It was great to run into Gary and Neil. I didn't see any other familiar callsigns lurking around......Were YOU out there ??????
Now for a double Jim Beam over ice !!!!!!!!!
Best way to end a day.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!
I was there. I didn't do the full 10 hours allowed for Single Op.
120 Qs, 63 mults for a total of 7560.
Worked the last three states I needed for a RTTY WAS. They were all in New England, so I spent a lot of time on 80m. Now to get the QSLs or LoTW matches for them. Still need two confirmations for basic WAS, and 6 for RTTY WAS.

Sorry I never found you.
Congrats on reaching RTTY WAS, and good luck getting the cards.
I'm still trying to get a few cards for WAS, I still need Deleware and Vermont.
FINALLY got a card from North Dakota a few weeks ago.
My DXCC pin showed up in the mail the other day, so that made my week.
Hi Bill !
Thanks for another RTTY contact....I was looking for you on 80m,never got to see your print...
Had fun in the rtty contest, which was squeezed in between the 160m contest..
I got 320 Q's,101 mults. not bad.Was actually pleasant compared to the Madness of the 160 test, my ears are still ringing.... Those 2KW PA stations are overloading the 850 big time !
The WPX rtty contest was a chance for me to see how the Hexbeam would work Europe,I was pleased, 522 Q's, 275 mults. , 65% of which were on 20m with the Hexbeam pointed east, and a bunch of 15m Q's,never have done as well, and that is with the low sunspot #'s,can't wait to see how the hexbeam plays in a couple of years! Worked a bunch of new Prefix's,hope they use Lotw!
I saw a post about "avid" contester's..after the last 2 weekends and several contests, I have gotten about 4 hrs of sleep per weekend,I would say that "avid" is a good description! Need a couple of quiet weekends to re-charge! Oh no, the ARRL DX contest is this upcoming weekend....so much for sleep!
Always great to see guys on the Zed in the contests,we'll look for you agn soon! THX Bill !:D

Congrats on the DXCC pin! I only have 86 toward DXCC, with QSLs (paper plus LoTW) for 37. So, I have a ways to go.
I need QSLs for NV and VT for Basic WAS. For RTTY, I need QSLs from CT, HI, NV, VT and WY.
My last 3 for RTTY WAS were CT, ME and VT. The ME QSL was in LoTW this morning! Out of 120 Qs, 35 have already been confirmed in LoTW, and the contest ended only 12.5 hours ago! I had heard that RTTY contesters were avid LoTW users, but I didn't expect a return rate this good! Just for comparison, the eQSL return rate is 17 out of 120.
Bill,
It was very good to print you, twice! I was especially impressed at our abilities to meet on 40 meters. Turning to 80 meters, I was able to copy and print a number of east coast stations.
RTTY is my favorite narrow-band mode. It squeaks through fairly well even at the 100 watt level dictated by the NAQP. I quit after 265 Q's and 27,030 points.
The NAQP, in its three variations, is an interesting contest because of the lower power and the 12 hour time limit. I really enjoy it for those reasons.
Another good contest for me are the WPX contests, because I count as a multiplier.
Next week-end is the phone version of the ARRL DX test. Should be interesting. There were some loud EU stations on 20 this morning. From here, that's a good thing.
Bill CU in the tests!

I played in it... I worked about 6 hours of the contest, picked up 103 QSOs, 53 multis. The only band that was really dead was 10m... other than that, I was able to make contacts on all the other bands.

Does everyone follow the 100 watt rule? I'm in NJ, and there were Texas stations booming in at S9+20 on 80m. Makes me wonder about what they're running at the other end...
(WG7X) Gary ,
Looked for you in the log, guess we have yet to work rtty, found an old qso from June of 06' on ssb.Did work Bob (WG7Y) in WY,in fact worked a bunch of WA and CA's on 20m for the first couple of hours, all very strong!
Hope to work you soon !

I do, obviously, I cannot speak for others.
The bands were in good shape here yesterday, and for the first time IN A LONG TIME, the power line noise was non-existant.
That made it NICE to work some RTTY.
I didn't have that continuous BUZZ-SAW noise in my ears.
Of course, it came back about 20 minutes ago whilst I'm trying to work a few North Carolina stations in the NC QSO Party.
FIGURES !!!!!!
Blasted power utility !!!!!!!
I have other words beside BLASTED, but cannot use HERE !!!!!
