View Full Version : Angry White Man Vote
In election 2008, don’t forget Angry White Man

Here's an article I found from the Aspen Times. A few quotes to give you a taste in case you want to follow the link.
There is one group no one has recognized, and it is the group that will decide the election: the Angry White Man. The Angry White Man comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America, from urban sophisticate to rural redneck, deep South to mountain West, left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.
His common traits are that he isn’t looking for anything from anyone — just the promise to be able to make his own way on a level playing field. In many cases, he is an independent businessman and employs several people. He pays more than his share of taxes and works hard.
He might be a Republican and he might be a Democrat; he might be a Libertarian or a Green. He knows that his wife is more emotional than rational, and he guides the family in a rational manner.
He’s not a racist, but he is annoyed and disappointed when people of certain backgrounds exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their race. He’s willing to give everybody a fair chance if they work hard, play by the rules and learn English.
Guess the common element this election year is EVERYONE wants change.....

He is not only a racist, but a misogynist to boot! So much for that post.

In other words the "angry white man" is an ignoramus.
Maybe-- but they are also a voting block that can help any one running for office win.

Except that demographically, they're the group least likely to go to the polls.
So which one of the candidates has "exhibited behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their race?"
Huckabee? McCain? Obama? Clinton?
Ron Paul???
Mike Gravel??????????
Who, pray tell?

Why is it OK that White Men are ANGRY? Why don't we hear about angry ethnic minority men? How about stupid white women? Stupid and angry ethnic minority women and men?
Peter Jennings is dead. He can no longer ask the white men if they are angry, but we sure as h*ll know they still are, or can get that way at the drop of a hat.

Peter Jennings would scoff, mildly and with grace, at the whole idea of "Angry White Man" as a meaningful voting block.
May he rest in peace.

If Obama gets in (I think he won't) we'll be in for a real trip.

Peter Jennings would please those supplying the nectar that runs down the string attached to his golden mouth.

Are these stereotypes formed in a vacuum? Do they have some basis in reality? Were they formed from observation, or imagination?
This newspaper almost descibes the majority of people in about a 500 mile radius of this location. Except angry is too harsh. Aggrieved, irritated, annoyed, sick and tired of. Not quite angry yet.

Well, you're learning. Be grateful for progress.
:p
So angry LIBS, the, so called, angry white men, vote and they are not going to disappear any time soon, get over it.
Hm........ the article really bashed Hillary, but I didn't focus on that (or catch that to the very end). I just posted it here because of all the focus on the "woman vote", the "hispanic votes", and the "black vote" just thought the ZED was ready for another minority group to talk about.
Guess I was wrong.

Neal Boortz suggested this article would be better titled The Angry American. He had many people calling his show today agreeing with the change.

100% concur. The pigment of your skin makes no difference on how you feel about many of the same issues. It just makes it so easy to put you easily grouped categories.............
Would they be the DEMS angry white men??
