If you add RP's votes to Romney's votes, you still come up with less than McCain had.
RP had no influence on the winner. If he had not been in the race, and ALL of his voters had supported Mitt, Romney would still have lost.
That's simple math.
So what are you talking about?

Perhaps. I honestly haven't studied the numbers yet.
I do think anyone listening to that broadcast who was undecided or was considering Romney probably got swayed pretty hard at the end.
So while all of the votes may have indeed NOT gone to Ron Paul that were going to go to Romney, I do think that Ron detracted some and the rest went elsewhere so in my opinion this absolutely did have an effect on the outcome.

Your opinion is terribly uninformed. With 99% of the vote counted:
McCain.... 693,425
Romney... 598,152
Paul......... 62,060
Romney + Paul = 660,212 to McCain's 693,435; over 33,000 votes short of tying McCain.
Paul didn't cost anyone anything in that election, just as his number of delegates at the Republican convention isn't going to be large enough to change the outcome even if they all vote for one of Romney or McCain over the other.

Au contraire, mon ami. It cost those 62k dupes a chance to cast a real ballot for a real candidate.

Indeed. I stand corrected.
