View Full Version : Actions Speak Louder than Words
Over RAG CHEW I've been poking some fun at some of this election year sillyness, however, in a few months all of us are going to be asked to cast our vote for the person we believe needs to lead this country
Found a site http://www.OnTheIssues.org that appears quite interesting -- provides voting record of the folks running for office at both the State and Federal levels based on issues we all are near and dear to.
I question anything I read, however, what I scanned concerning the folks I know in Missouri seems to be accurate.
So for what it's worth -- I offer this up to the QRZ with no canidate bias
Go forth, go informed, vote for what you feel is right!

I already figured out who I will vote for and why I also know who I won't vote for and why.
I find it hard to imagine that anyone here on the internet doesn't know why they are voting the way they are or that this particular web site is going to tell them something they don't already know.
Basically all that goes on here is that we tell lies to each other when we pretend how great our choice is, if we actually in engage in telling other how wonderful our choice is. I don't engage in that but I do rail against snow jobs by people with an agenda.
I have this attitude and it relates to salesmen and sales jobs, sales jobs like snow jobs, if I want something I will go get it I don't need anyone to sell it to me I know where to find it or will find out how to find it.

The "On The Issues" site did NOT have a "Veterans" category, so I sent them a polite but firm email. I'm compelled to do that far too often. Probably won't change anything, but who knows?
Most Americans do not seem to realize just how much they owe to those who served, especially those who dedicated most of their entire adult life to serving this country.
VERY FEW Americans are aware of some very serious issues concerning veterans, much less care about them. If they did, maybe these candidates, the administration, congress, etc., wouldn't treat veterans as "throw-away" cannon fodder (until its time for a photo-op, of course).

"History is littered with governments destabilized by masses of veterans who believed that they had been taken for fools by a society that grew rich and fat at the expense of their hardship and suffering."
Anthony J. Principi, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
