VBBS is a great program, must be sludge in the oil somewhere cause for me, the forum is painfully slow.

I wondered if others are noticing the same?

Thanks for the upgrade Fred, I read the post about it after it was done... You have more courage than me!! Not only did you back up the data, but you plugged it into a DIFFERENT forum software which is not something I would have attempted.

Yup. Pretty slow here as well. I'm sure they will get it sorted out soon.
I like this format much better.

Same here, but give the people some time to iron out the wrinkles first ;)

Its getting faster as I use it here.

I wouldn't try editing signatures yet. Every time you change it, it tells you that you can use less characters. First it told me I was limited to 200, then when I pared it a little it said I could only use 150.

I'm leaving it be for now :)

Pfffffffffft!
It told me two, including the VBB tags.

Well, it's certainly different, and I'm sure there will be some bugs to be exterminated before all is done.
Yes, it's currently slow. And after log-in, redirect didn't work. it will take some getting used to.

It's rocking now and is the same board that Kawasakimotorcycle.org uses.

Seams the speed has picked up a good bit now. Not as fast as... b4... but, when it was first changed over it was reallllllly slooooow. Looks to be running fine at this time.

AndrewI hate to sound ungreatful, but I like the other way better. I know this is a good system, but I can't read this for long at all. I skip the quoted altogether because I cannot read it. I have horrible carpals tunnel and I cannot scroll back and forth and backj and forth to read each line. So I may have to say fair well to everyone. Can't read stuff.

Well, this is sure a learning experience. Different "Look and feel".. Will take a bit of getting used to.
Not finding it sluggish, just different. But then I've hated learning curves since the ARC-5 days.

If your having to scroll back and forth to read each line your screen resolution must be set way to low. Only scrolling I have to do is down as I read. I have also just check and even at a setting as low as 800X600 I still don't have to scroll back and forth to read the lines. I normally have my screen set at 1024X768

Now for a nice hint if you have bad eyes like I do there are settings in windows so you can run that high of a resolution and still read it you need to change the DPI settings for that and as for webpages that is where firefox smokes can enlarge the text on the fly.

The S-L-O-W crawl seems to have been solved; the new system seems to be at least a smidgeon faster than before. (Even on [GASP!] dial-up.) I'm sure there will be tweaks over the coming days For now, it seems a great system, even if it has a few foibles. We just have to allow Fred a well deserved rest and let him address small issues in the next few days or even weeks. It was hardly a trivial task to make this change.
And we ALL have to take time to LEARN this new system, and express to Fred (and his entire staff) our appreciation of the new, improved QRZ!

I found out how to X out the "Quick Reply" and it'ls narrow now!

In fact, it's WAY too narrow now.

Thanks for the tips. and I don't have fire fox. I don't go anywhere where I have to worry about too much. And from what I gather, people always have to learn to shut that off in order to get other things, or they get blocked.

WoW this is going to take some getting used to. It's too narrow now.

Speed was only slow the first day or two, appears to be blistering right along now, no problems.

It is slow here -- and I'm using Windows/IE at the local library. I'd say about 1 page in 10 loads. When it works, it looks nice; when it doesn't work, I just hit the red X in the upper RH corner.

Sounds like something really needs fixing . . .
