gmail

I've been using gmail for a yr or so now with good service. For the last few days I'm having a very hard time connecting - lots of times it will connect, perhaps even open one msg, but after that just no connection - it will time out..

Anyone else? OR is it just me?

They had something on their page about they have been having a problem, they claimed it was fixed, but have been seeing complaints on other comp. sites.

I've had no problems. Try connecting to gmail from another internet connection (library, work, etc). If you're seeing the problems on several internet connections, not sure what to tell you.

I use Mozilla Thunderbird to get my Gmail and I haven't had any problems

no problems getting to gmail lately here ... do remember, though, that as far as google is concerned the service is still a "beta" and so there will be interruptions, ...

Thanks for the inputs - it seems like it might be on my end with the WiFi connection I use from the marina.... The library here has ALL web based email blocked because of porn, and work has web based email blocked, so it's a bit hard to find a different ISP connection - I'll be in New Orleans next week and will spend a bit of time checking there.

Thanks again for the info - I guess I'll be using yahoo or myrealbox for a while for email - both those are working good.

Same here. Thunderbird email client, IMAP to Gmail and POP3 to my FD account and all works well.
