This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address by the President fall on the same day.

It is an ironic juxtaposition:

One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, and the other involves a Groundhog.

I just LOVE Groundhog day, what a HOLIDAY!!!! Unfortunately, Groundhog day has not much impact here in Southern California, for Winter is not much different than summer, except we get a little more rain. So, no Spring to hope for!
