There are many thousands of Chinese restaurants around in the UK and everyone has their favourite dish, but only in China itself do chefs specialise in a range of slightly more unusual delicacies.

I think this quote from the reporter says it all:
Quote[/b] ]My appetite is heading for the airport.
Footnote: I work for a station which airs the BBC World Service, and I've heard their "From Our Own Correspondent" segment many times. #I must've missed this one... thank God. #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Those are some sick people. And thats why anything I see in the grocery store labelled "made in China" stays on the shelf.
Ugh. I think I'll stick with Froot Loops.

It seems to me that all Chinese restaurants serve the same swill anymore and it probably all comes out of the same buckets from the same suppliers. I haven't had genuine Chinese food in years. Cripes even the menus are numbered the same. If General Tso's Chicken is #56 on one menu it's the same on every other one in town.
We had a fairly decent Chinese dinner restaurant in town until the old man that owned it retired and moved away leaving it to his kids to run. They turned it into another Chinee Takee Outee and it lasted 6 months before it folded.
The best Chinese restaurant I ever ate at was on Grant Avenue in S.F Chinatown.

"We don't call them waiters here. And we don't serve much alcohol," she says. "Only common people come here to get drunk and laugh."
But she does offer me a deer-blood and vodka cocktail, which I decide to skip.
At that point I think I'd ask them to bring me the opium...please.

During an episode of Jeff Corwin's show on the Animal Planet network, Jeff, Sanji Gupta, MD (of CNN) & several animal protection officers in Thailand traced a shipment of various animal parts headed to China. #Once in China, Dr. Gupta visited a restaurant in which several items listed were things such as "Tiger Penis" etc. (well you get the picture).
The comment was made, quite appropriately: #"The Chinese will eat ANYTHING."
Need we say more?

The Chinese waiters have a sense of humor...and they often use it on unsuspecting naive tourists. What was being served was not actually a big dog's penis. It was a mock penis made from a mushroom that looked like it could have been a big dog's penis.
w2ilp (Ingest LoMein Penis) after slurping Mock Turtle Raman Soup....and one from A and two from B....but in China they never serve fortune cookies...Only Capitalists can make fortunes.

Brings new meaning to the lyrics;

Everybody Wang Chung tonight

New Chinese place opened recently on one of the Indian reservations around Puget Sound. It's a place where you can get Lo Mein on a Totem Pole.
If you get a sudden case of food poisoning at the restaurant do they offer you some penis-ill'in? *ba dum dum*

Chinese Restaurant
A couple goes for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and orders the
"Chicken Surprise." The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot.
Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises
slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down.
"Good grief, did you see that?" she asks her husband.
He hasn't, so she asks him to look in the pot.
He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes
looking around before it slams down. Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening, and demands an explanation.
"Please sir," says the waiter, "what you order?"
The husband replies, "Chicken Surprise."
(You're going to love this.................
"Ah! So solly," says the waiter, "I bring you Peeking Duck!"

Sure, I have. I don't know what's in "Potted Meat Food Product," and I probably don't want to know, but mix it with some Miracle Whip and it makes a pretty tasty sandwich. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
