Quote[/b] ]A computer systems administrator was sentenced to 30 months in prison on Tuesday for trying to sabotage his company's servers out of fear he was about to lose his job, prosecutors said.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark, N.J., said Yung-Hsun Lin received the longest ever federal prison term for a criminal attempt to damage a computer system.

He was also ordered to pay $81,200 in restitution to his former employer, pharmacy benefit manager Medco Health Solutions.

As opposed to the ignorant who do so unintentionally?

People have been jailed and/or fined for releasing malware into the wild. Google "Jeffrey Parsons" for starters.

Thats kind of like the large number of arsonists turn out to be firefighters who worry about loosing their jobs, so they set fires so they will have something to do. They like fire.

Add "Robert Tappan Morris."

Incidentally, I had much better results with the search terms "Jeffrey Parsons malware."
