ICOM OPC-478U USB COMPUTER INTERFACE

Hi all,

I have just seen one of these at an online store. #I want to connect my Ic-7000 to my computer.

Is there anyone who has one of these? If so could you please comment on this item and would you recommend one?

As I am new to this sort of thing (connecting a PC to a TXRX) will this allow me to use programs such as MMSSTV, RTTY and PSK31?

the OPC478 is for controlling your radio, not for sending digital signals through it.

for what it's worth you can build an interface for a few dollars that lets you computer control your radio, all you need to drive it is a standard serial port.

For digital modes you want something like a Rigblaster, not this.
