Here is an update on my situation.
I got a phone call from a person who says he is the 'real' Marshall Rice KG4MMK. He used to live at the Lonas Dr address but hasnt for 5 years, and that the person living there now must be using his name and call sign to rip folks off. He knew nothing about this situation until he googled his name and saw these postings. Again I cannot confirm for sure that this is the case, but I did want to give add'l info on this case.
I still have not gotten my money back. Hopefully the 'real' KG4MMK can get his name cleared and stop this scumbag from further trashing his identity, and help me get my money back.
Remember everyone- this is a good example of why you need to update your ULS listing with the FCC as soon as any of your personal info changes. KG4MMK's ULS listing still lists the address as 4505 1/2 Lonas Dr. This is one of the things I checked before sending money- had the address not matched the address given to me by the ad poster it would have raised a red flag with me.
I would consider this call sign and address still to be suspect if you encounter it, until matters can be cleaned up.

If you sent him a postal money order, I would contact your local postmaster.

The Feds need to enforce the Form 610 info being up to date. Once in a great while they do, many times, they don't.
I have filed the form to investigate the money order status with the usps, and have engaged the postal inspector's office. We are also talking with KNoxville police dept. We are closing in, and hopefully will get my money back eventually.
My last update to this thread . . .
I actually got my money order back yesterday, in the same envelope 'return to sender', ~5 weeks after the USPS delivered it to that address (according to the usps tracking site). I dont know what really happened. I did find out the name of the person living at the Lonas Rd address- his name/alias is Dean Blackburn. As of 5 or 6 days ago I started calling him by his name in the messages I was leaving him daily on his cell phone. Perhaps that had some effect.
Anyway- I got my money back. I hope the real kg4mmk gets his identity cleared somehow. I am going to be much more careful in the future about sending money to anyone.
