as most of you know now, I will be moving to NH and after this weekend I can not guarantee I will be on the radio anymore for a long period of time.

Finishing up my operating time in MN I am on 20M phone right now on 14.255

If you can work me I would appreciate it.

I am also trying to get the 3 states I need for my W.A.S.

Alaska
Iowa
North Dakota.

Don't be intimidated by whatever speed I am going at. If you send the wrong exchange or whatever I always forgive people. I remember like yesterday when i was going 5 wpm and I still couldn't copy anything. Thankfully for me though, those days are over!

But seriously, I am a very patient operator, and if you want or need me to slow down send a quick QRS or a nice little slow ? and the speed will always come down to whatever you sent qrs or ? at.

I do not believe anyone actually lives in North Dakota.

I've never met anyone from North Dakota.

I've never met anyone who has met anyone from North Dakota.

I've never heard anyone on the air claiming to be in North Dakota.

I've never seen a North Dakota license plate, for that matter.

I'm not even convinced North Dakota exists... it may be that the name was created as a government coverup.

So good luck on that one...

And maybe I'll get a chance to work you in NH... as you get more limited in when you can operate from MN, I fear I probably won't be able to catch you (especially weekdays).

I can attest there are people in North Dakota.

My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson were at Minot. Thankfully the Air Force had mercy and relocated them to Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. Much warmer there.

The old chestnut we zoomies would recite when asked about an assignment to Minot AFB:

"Why not Minot? FREEZIN'S the REASON!"

I would have loved to work you. But I think I would be to intimidated that I would send you the wrong exchange. And I really don't want to make you angry.

I live in North Dakota.

You can meet me on the air, sometime.

But if you want me, you have to catch me on CW mode.

When I was a Novice, I lived in Illinois. Like for most Novices of that day, obtaining the WAS ( Worked All States ) certificate was a big deal ! I had obtained QSL cards from all the states EXCEPT Rhode Island. I sooo wanted R.I. But then, I had to move to Maryland, and all of my previous QSL cards would NOT qualify for any future awards, including WAS . You want to guess what state I worked in the first week that I had settled into my new QTH ?

Am I correct in my reading of the award rules that WAS needs to be operated from 50 miles of the same spot, but DXCC credits are good for contacts made from anywhere within the same DXCC entity?

And to the OP, ff you do have to start all over for WAS, all that means is you need to play more radio. #Not much of a punishment, is it? :-) #I foubnd that trying different modes always seemed to fill in some holes in my WAS count, like the dakotas on PSK and Alaska on CW and RTTY.

...Come to think of it, the ARRL RTTY Roundup is this weekend and probably presents the best chance of catching those last states before you have to move...

Rhode Island was my last WAS state too, on 6 meters! It is so hard to get a good double hop on sproradic E to the East Coast, but to find a RI station in that very brief openning is even tougher. But after many many years, W1OP was worked on FD for state #50. Delaware was the 2nd hardest.
