I even started an SKN QSO Pledge Drive for the SKCC list. It started as a joke and the next thing I knew I was keeping a list of pledges.

Somewhere on this planet there is Grayline
propagation going on. Therefore hams all over the world read this, right? right. So, a ham somewhere in the world is working grayline right now.
Happy.

Letting us poor 100 watt barefoot ops get in would be a welcomed change in behavior. Damned tired of having an ongoing QSO get killed because some ####### can't wait and HAS to get that quicky QSL immediately. Guess what, most of these clowns are not no-coders and are among the supposedly elite.

Starting to think he's gonna need a new cryin' towel...
Riddle me this... if these big guns are keeping the little guys out... how come I, with 100 watts max, sometimes as little as 10 watts and less than optimal antenna for many bands... have things like:
Grenada, Barbados, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Suriname, Honduras, French Guiana, Jamaica, Barbados, Madeira Is.,
Costa Rica, French Guiana, Tanzania, Galapagos Is., Canary Is., Netherlands, Jamaica, Belgium, Martinique, Slovenia, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Costa Rica, Spain, Guyana, Kure I. and Isle of Man
in the log (many are QSL, too)?
Contacts are on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10.
SSB, PSK-31, PSK-63, SSTV, RTTY and CW.
I've gotten through pileups into Hawaii and other places...
If you listen to Greg, I can't possibly have done that... 'cause the big guns wouldn't let me.
I guess everybody's supposed to hear KG4KWW and step aside... "oh, ok, everybody, there's Greg, don't transmit, let him try to get the contact, then we'll get back to it."

Dude, if you can't beat them, join them.
That's what I did anyway.
If they're interfering with an ongoing QSO, then that is illegal interference, and you can report it to the FCC.
But if they simply beat you in the pileup, guess what - that is LIFE and you either live with it, learn how to tail-end and/or get a bigger antenna.
Doing SKN now, on 40m. However my J-38 slipped out of its bearings a couple of times. Hopefully now I should be good.
Hoping to QSO with some of you!

Just for the halibut, I'm working the SARTG RTTY contest.
Not much activity, but its only a 3 hour gig, so it is over shortly.
(Oh, and I'm like a bunch of others, 100 watt rice box, a homemade antenna system that isn't worth 15 cents in Chinese clackers with 169 DXCC entities in the last 20 months. Last 20 months, at the bottom of the solar cycle. If you can't get thru, you are not trying hard enough. Filed an application in November for DXCC with 135 confirmations, mostly phone.)
Whine & CRY some more !!!!!
I'll send a box of Kleenex.......Used ones, of course !!!

I completely agree with you Bill.
Knowing where not to be is often a more important discovery.
If there is propagation for the DX under the Big Pile, then go search for other lonely DX using the same favorable conditions and work them.
If one of the lonely DX stations is a tempting enough target, spot him and when the cluster crabs run over to devour the newly posted station, go back to the first one to get your contact as the competition thins out due to frustration, greed and because you have moved the worst operators somewhere else.
There is more than one way to work a pile.
