Things are looking good today, have been working QRP SSB to both coasts on 10 and 15, and one EU contact on 15 (at 12 watts).

Hop on and have fun, the contesters need the points!

Nothing on either 10 or 15 here in western Pennsylvania.

Been that way all day. I have been checking regularly looking for activity in the RAC Winter contest.

I checked the bands three times today and they were extremely poor in western Europe.

Nothing going in the mid-west. Dead as the good old doornail.

By the way, anyone know if a "doornail" is different from any other kind of nail?

Heard a couple QSOs on 15 meters here in south Texas. W 2 stations I think.

Regarding the doornail business, from what I understand it is the way nails were used in olden days to make a door very strong.

If you hammer a nail through a piece of timber and then flatten the end over on the inside so it can’t be removed again (a technique called clinching), the nail is said to be dead, because you can’t use it again. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
