Hey guys,I am Calvin a 13 year old ham of Waconia, Minnesota. Most of you didn't know this but, I'm moving to New Hampshire. I am kind of excited as I am going to get to be almost neighbors with John K1AR, but many bad things(to me) will come out of this move.
My dad says that this weekend or very close to this weekend I have to dissemble my station and antennas and go inactive for at least four months(probably more) until we make the move to New Hampshire.
I am going to put out one last effort to get rid of 850 QSL cards that I just had printed from Gennady UX5UO so please look for me on the air today from maybe 10:30(16:00 UTC) to the end of the day as time permits.
My grandparents(one of them K9MMS) are coming over at around dinner time probably later though so I might have to stop my "operations" to spend time with them and open christmas presents.
I will be on 20 Meters mainly on SSB from maybe 14.250 and up or a little bit below.
Of course I will also put out a CW effort calling as K0DXC/13(13 years old) at around maybe 14.025 and up.
73 all,
I will be inactive after this weekend and it saddens me put hopefully today I can have a QSO with all of you.
73,
Calvin K0DXC
I am going back to CW around 14.025

I'll give a listen for you Calvin.
Best of luck on the move and look on the bright side, you have an opportunity to build a new station. I hope you have plenty of room for antennas at your new QTH.

My dad says that I'll have room to put up a tower, I only hope that he follows through on his word.
Also K1AR, John did say he could either put me in touch with someone who could help me out or possibly even help me out himself

Hey good luck on the move. I grew up in NH. I think you'll like it. And a tower will be a good thing. Good Luck

Age 13 good operator. TNX!
Age 13 - Great young CW op
Sorry to hear you have to take down your antennas due to picky homebuyers and realtors who don't appreciate the value and beauty of a good antenna system.
73, my friend and hope to hear you from NH.

Ha Ha. He said you will have room, he didn't say you would have a tower.
It's an old parent trick...

Just worked Cal on 14.0251 at about 20 WPM. Give a listen for him. We need more youngsters like him coming along. I hope he has some friends to share amateur radio with.

Wow little man! Lots of changes, a big move... thats GOTTA be exciting!
Think of it as an adventure!
And from an adults, and parents perspective... Remember what you're OM promised... could possibly be something he cannot follow through with so don't worry if you work off a dipole or coat hanger, at least you still have the hobby!
Best to you & 73-
Andrew

Thanks Jim and Bob,
I will probably end up keeping my call sign at K0DXC, I like it and It is a very unique call(I'm surprised it was available)
But yes my days of operating in MN are numbered.
Yes though I am looking forward to all the DX in NH because the propagation is so good being it's on the east coast.

I'm not at home right now so I don't have my log in front of me, but I think I worked you a few months back. In fact, I think I worked you when you were /ag at about 14.310. Did you just get your general this summer? You're really cranking on the CW. Great job.

Yes I recently got my general over the summer. I had a great teacher(my grandpa) K9MMS

Don't forget the notary seal for the signature.
All razzing aside, good luck in the move, and hope to hear you from New Ham-Cheer soon.
I read your thread about LIDS.
IGNORE them. You will find as you grow and mature, LIDS or their equivalent are EVERYWHERE, not just on the amateur bands.
Think the amateur bands are bad, just wait until you get out of school and enter the workforce.
LIDS, LIDS everywhere, and NO relief in sight.
Just part of life !!!

thx guys, by the way im going on 40M CW
One thing you can do possibly is to put a label over your old contact info on your QSL card. New address, new county, new state, new CQ zone info. Be sure to sign your QSL card near the label to ensure that its you who is making the change.
Anyone want to comment on this possible "fix"?
