I have a kenwood AT-120 antenna tuner for sale on QTH. A gentlemen from Romania-YO9GFD- would like to purchase it. He has suggested payment through Western Union, my price plus all shipping charges. He is not asking for any deals, returned money or anything like that. It appears to be a straight forward deal but I'm wondering if anyone has had any business with this amateur or opinions???

Thanks,

No personal knowledge myself, however, based on the Google hits for his callsign he appears to be an active ham, participating in contests, etc. #I can't prove it with objective evidence, but my observation has been that most sleazy individuals with callsigns who rip off other hams are not active in ham radio; their primary activity is trying to make a buck through ham radio (which, for the most part, is like trying to make gold out of water). #Good luck!

Sure, why not. Just make sure that the payment is received and the payment instrument is GOOD with NO RECOURSE after it is credited to you and the same for electronic payments of any type.

I have dealt with romanians and russians for years thru Western Union with absolutely no problems. He deposits cash, you pick up cash...easy
